Just finished my first day on Doshin, what can I say, at first I wasn't sure, it seemed a bit boring, Doshin moves really slowly and there seemed to be far too much walking around doing nothing. But as I got more used to the lay out of the Island I realised that there's was no need to go on all these missions. It gets much better when the villages start getting built cause you actually feel like you're doing something instead of ar$ing around throwing trees at the locals. The graphics while not jaw dropping are still very nice, the sun comes up and the sun sets and the lighting changes to suit it, the villages look rather nice, good detail on the buldings and the little people going about their buisness. I've been quite impressed with the wildlife as well cause I'm sad like that, the way the birds swoop down and get fish out of the water and other things I though was cool. I think the games gonna grow on me even more as I get into it.

So far I have thrown trees at people, saved some fish (aren't I nice), flattened some ground for people to build on, got fed up with some gimp who kept asking me to flatten ground so I jumped on him, saw a little girl playing with a ball so me being the nice friendly giant that I am picked her up then stepped on her.

Anyway I'm off to work out how to grow a flower, the little dudes have built me a monument cause I rule but I have to give them a flower.

Alright, so at the time it was great, but compare it to say.. Deus Ex. Deus Ex I haven't completed yet, and it's taken me ages. Goldeneye was done in two weeks. It's also now fairly slow compared to Deus Ex and there are quite a few glitches.

It was and still is a great game, but admit it, it's dated.

Slow gameplay? glitches? short lifespan?

Was I playing a totally different game to you?

I'd say Goldeneye would fit that description, but I can't remember Super Mario 64.

Just cause it's a N64 doesn't mean that at all, are you saying that all the following referred to Mario 64 and Goldeneye as well?

It's a feckin great game, the graphics are nice, it'll last you for ages, it seems slow when you first start playin but give it time and it picks up pace. It's more of a relaxing game than an action packed game.

So Doshin's an N64 port? I guess that means poor graphics, glitches, slow gameplay and a short lifespan. Damn.. I was hoping for something special...

I didn;t like B&W because there was too much resource management, and not enough killings. You had to concentrate on far too many things for far too long, and it led to you never having time to have fun.
I hope Doshin is less heavy.

It was released in Japan for the 64DD.

the only problem B&W has is you need the patience to train your creature to a standard where he can help villagers, and cast every spell in the book.

Most people just get their creature to chuck beach balls at mud huts, and wonder why it gets boring.

If Doshin was originally for N64, it wouldn't have been released *that* long ago, a couple years maybe.

Yeah, my copy of Back and White is probably the least used CD (and DVD) I own now. I only bought it a few weeks ago, and I've only payed the game twice.
