Yesterday we shocked you with the news that Nintendo has sold it's 49% stake it held in Rare to Microsoft. Now we know who has the right for what franchise.
Many of you must have been wondering about what will happen with games like Banjo Kazooie, or more importantly, Perfect Dark.
New details have now hit the net. Nintendo has sold the rights to: Perfect Dark, Conker, and Banjo Kazooie to Microsft/Rareware. Nintendo will keep the rights for Donkey Kong and Star Fox, and will internally develop the next Donkey Kong game.
What will happen to Kameo: Elements of Power is still unknown. It's probably (unfortunately) safe to say that this game won't come out on the GameCube, as it has never been released on another Nintendo console before, and Nintendo thus doesn't have any rights to it.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo no more PD for cube :(
Though when the pictures of a Banjo sequel start flooding in i'll probably be saying otherwise.

Quiet fool, sometimes you talk out of your asss, name 5 excellent reasons to get an Xbox, and i miht take that last bit back.
I'm covered- thank god Microsoft gave me that free Xbox!
:D

Why should it have massivly failed ? Theres loads of excellent games coming to the X-Box, Rare will be just adding a few extra titles to the list.
Thats logical.
But I bought an xbox a couple weeks back so i'm fine :)
Although GameCube has done pretty well so far without any Rare games at all. But Conker's BFD rates in in my top 3 N64 games (most enjoyable game without a doubt for me). Is kinda sad to see them moving ship, almost thought of them as a part of Nintendo.
