I don't like football myself, or many sports, but I wouldn't begrudge it anyone. If anything I'm against anyone who says we shouldn't have so much football/sports.
Look at it like this; higher player wages are passed onto fans through merchandse, ticket, tv subs, rising, so it doesn't matter to non football fans.

On CM01/02, I never pay a layer more than about 55,000p/w.
I feel its my 'statement' against too many high wages.

'Too comercial'...? You talk as though you're saying football has 'sold out' or something. It is a sport, I have no problem with people making money from it or anything, I have no problem with people getting paid to do it professionally, it may not be an essential service, but we don't expect musicians to play without getting paid. National football is essentially just entertainment. Okay, you're going to have some fans who love football and it is more than 'just a game' to them, but I'd probably say the majority of people use it as entertainment. So why shouldn't footballers be paid for what they do? But I just think it's ridiculous that footballers get paid so much. I mean, give them decent pay and that, but millions of pounds? I think it's ridiculous...
And I'm sure someones going to make the connection about music again and say some musicians earn in excess of millions but I think many entertainment industries nowadays are farcical... anyway, end of rant there.

At least you agree that it's become too comercial. I had a tiring first lesson of Football today, only half the class was here today so I was made to do more defending than usual.

He's a muppet all right.

You obviously haven't seen me play Snooker... ;-)
Anyway, I think the fact that these people get paid so much to play a game is stupid, and the fact that some morons beat each other up over the fact that they support different teams. But the game of football isn't stupid. It's fun to play sometimes. But it's stupid what the face of the game (ie. premier league, national/international footie tournaments) has turned into.
On the pitch, he's a star. In front of a camera, he's cockney muppet.
