Westwood's Elite-alike MMORPG has entered open public beta testing. The game can be downloaded from www.download.com and I assume www.filemirrors.com also, but file mirrors was down last night when I was searching.
But anyway. Go, download, enter. Be warned though, it's a 1 gig download!

Me neither until I got my subscription PCGamer through the door. They have 2 pages of lovely new looking screenshots of the game. I haven't read the article yet, but man, if the game plays half as good as it looks, then it will be well worth the wait.

Me neither until I got my subscription PCGamer through the door. They have 2 pages of lovely new looking screenshots of the game. I haven't read the article yet, but man, if the game plays half as good as it looks, then it will be well worth the wait.

I would be interested if it werent for my 56k modem. I doubt my connection would remain stable for that long, although having said that AOL are quite reliable.
I'd download it but I'm not sure about that 1gig you need. I might try this weekend if I have enough time. There are also two other space based straegy games coming out soon which look awesome, Homeworld 2 and Haegemonia (I have no idea how you pronounce that).
We certainly won't be short of choice this year then when it comes to these types of games.
