No what killed the N64 is that the support it recieved was turned down by Nintendo because they thought they could go it alone with Rare, I bet they are glad for Pokemon again!!

I think nintendo are trying to have a good as posable launch.
If they give the dev kits out now companies may try and rush a cak game out on the shelves to cash in on the lauch of the GC.
By holding of the distubution of the dev kits it is ensuring that no rush job games will be out on launch day, giving a good impression.
I mean, no one could make a half decent game between now and november.
