Needs something chilled but not too chilled...

Wow my whole future depends on it!
There are tons of scientists with the same dilemma; doing something they love but getting paid peanuts until they're heading up a research team. By which time they would have grown a beard, lady or not.
Unless you've signed a do-or-die death pact, your future is largely undecided and can be changed at any time. Don't think that because you've picked a set of subjects or a degree, that you have to follow it through as a profession. And remember, the forces aren't fussed to what you choose, and you can do it after your degree for most branches.
I'd thought about archaeology as well, but I did some work experience and the people all told me the pay was pisspoor. Plus, I can't watch Time Team without getting bored. Bascially my largest reason for archaeology was working in a foreign country. I'd like to do something that takes me to a lot of different places. I don't know really, but I wish I did, I have to decide a good part of my future in the next two weeks.
Cheers FLCL! Hopefully that A in Surfing will be put to good use soon.
RoJ, I was in the same boat too after Biggles went on about it. But then I met a few who were applying and they were so sure of themselves and the occupation, I thought twice. When the reply to, "Have you considered the Army instead?" were comments like "The Army isn't up to scratch compared to the RAF" and "our uniform is better", I was put off for good. On top of that, the branch I was going to apply for were already full on successful applicants who were waiting a place.
Plus my current job is going so well, it would be a huge risk to change paths all of a sudden.
