See what Biggles said.
+ Is it worth buying a tuner (electric?)
Definately. I do it by ear and it really isn't all that great. I have a CD aswell as using the internal tuning method, but electric tuners are perfectly accurate and take a fraction of the time. Pretty cheap too.
Although you can't say "It's just out of tune" when you screw up.
:D

Biggles can you lend a bit of help in PC and Web, please?
Cheers.
And yes, I shall beat you in the Noble, while reciting plane names.
Or I'll crash, as is what happens most often.
Now, I'm off to play H2 on Heroic again - it's actually superb like that.
Um, I think an electric tuner is a good investment. It's that or you need to do it all by ear off of something else, which is rather fallible. And there are a variety of different picks. Some are thin and bendy and you can't play fast with them because the time it takes for the pick to go back to normal after you pick with it. You also get stiffer picks which enable you to play faster. Different materials give slightly different tones, the most notable being metal picks. You can also get different shapes, some of which are more comfortable to hold, some more accurate for picking, and some that are just good for strumming.
Buy a bunch of different ones and then see what one you end up using the most. Personally I use X10 speed picks, metal picks and Jim Dunlop Big Stubby 3mm picks.

I mixed up the GR7 and GR4 AGAIN.
GR7 is Harrier, GR4 is Tornado.
Horrible.
