Damn punks
One of the screenshots show part of the box.
They're not sure how many memory blocks the game takes up, but it clearly showed the symbol (and text) for 4 players simultaneous...
A HUGE single player game AND a long lasting multiplayer.
And people wonder why I'd buy an XBox for this company's games?

That's what I've been trying to say! :-)

Metroid's taken as long as any Rare game.
Also, they've needed Nintendo to babysit them all the way.
AND Rare are develloping several at a time.
Retro aren't bad, but they'll never replace Rare.
You're all talking like you'll never get to play Rare's future games.
The company hasn't gone bust and stopped making games - they're just moving to another platform. All you need do - if possible for you - is buy that platform.
Face it, it's the GAMES which give you the enjoyment, not the console - so if you love the games, swallow your pride and buy an Xbox. There'll still be plenty of games on Gamecube, and you can still enjoy the Rare titles you love so much.
Retro will replace Rare when we all play Metroid Prime.
Their games are just some of the few that make owning a Nintendo console triumphantly more pleasurable.
To see them go would be a major blow, me thinks.
The only slightly enlightening ray of hope other than Rare and Nintendo, is Retro Studios and Silicon Knights being Nintendo-only developers, and the fact that Nintendo have high hopes for those two rapidly-developing companies actually spewing all-round good, exclusive games.
Maybe they mean Retro Studios and Silicon Knights are the "new" Rare?
Perhaps.
What really irritates me is the possibility of Perfect Dark and the like becoming X-box exclusives.
Damn them all.
Rare excels at screenshots, more than it does at games. So far they've onl got Starfox Adventures for the Gamecube looking anywhere like finished. Perfect Dark Zero, Donkey Kong .e.t.c remain myths and unconfirmed.
It's undeniable that, whilst pretty screenshots are good, games are better, even on N64 Rare have a very sorry record of actual releases. In the new NOM Nintendo's President is quoted as saying that Nintendo wants to move from 2-3 years development times and towards 1 year times, this would mean that, short of a miracles or doping Rare's water supply and food, Rare don't fit into the visions Nintendo has for the Gamecube and it's future.
I'm pretty bored of games that take 3 years to make - too often they turn out not as good as promised - like FFX on PS2 - and only a rare few are worth it - MGS2 on PS2.
Rare doesn't hold the license for nice graphics, given money and expertise a lot of developers out there could do similar.
