US of A get a whopping 1 million Xbox 360 units for launch day.

What does the UK get? 50,000

See the link for how that compares to PSP, DS and Gamecube UK launch figures.

Going to be a lot of disappointed faces on December 2nd.

50,000 consoles for around 60 million people.

1 million consoles for around 300 million people.

Therefore, around 1 console for every 300 people in the USA, and 1 console for every 1,200 people in the UK. 4 times as many consoles per number of people for people in the United States as their will be for Britain. Roughly, of course.

I'd say that's pretty crap, comparison-wise.

We're still getting 3 quarters less compared to population.

Haha... we mean nothing to MS. Probably 2, 1 in Swansea and 1 in Cardiff. Plenty to go around!

You do realise that the UK's population is about sixty million, whereas the US is close to three hundred million.

I know it still wouldn't be equal if you scaled it up, but it isn't that bad.

I hope you are wrong.

Why do they have to be so expensive? Mr Gates has enough money to give eveyone in the UK £1000 and still be one of the richest men on the planet!

Greed - nasty thing - still, it produces what we want.

No, they are much more competitively priced this time. Also, "Xbox" is a known brand with a following, so I don't think they're going to have trouble shifting the units this time around.

They've said there will be drops as the cost to manufacture the machine comes down, but I doubt that will be til 12 months or more after launch.

Of course, I could be completely wrong :-)

Do you reckon the 360 will do that too?

Rallisport may have been my other one.

Not a patch on the sublime Rallisport Challenge 2 though :)

It was bascially a choice of the Microsoft published launch titles.
I think I got Rallisport Challenge and Amped.
