i loaded up my computer this mornin and it said some files were missing or corrupt,
himem.sys
dblbuff.sys
and ifshlp.sys
so i copied the from my other computer, but it still doesnt work so i am confined to msdos. When i boot my computer it gets to the second windows screen and then resets itself and keeps going through... so any ideas?

where do i type this, i cant use cd's in safe mode, and so i need to run cd's from MSDOS. any ideas

It was working this morning, but it locked during connecting to the internet, and loads of connection boxes came up. I switched it on and off then thats when the problem started.
???

Sorry didnt see this message. I havent installed anything recently, and can access safe mode. Do you think copying those files accross has made it worse. Perhaps I can run the Windows disk through. How do you access Cd's in MSDOS??
Any help appreciated.

Sounds more like he deleted something recently.
If what Lord H said doesn't work out try putting your startup floppy in (wild guess)

Have you tried booting up in safe mode?

Boot up normally and then when you get to the second screen (the one with the table listing devices on the PC) press F8 until you get a menu. Choose "Safe Mode" from the menu and it should load up.

Have you installed some new software recently?
