At first, I was thoroughly disappointed. After the game chose the recommended settings for my system, which were quite high, I thought 'great', but then 'not so great' when the game absolutely crawled on the first mission.
However, after a bit of tweakage with the settings, I realised that it was the 'hardware T&L' that was doing the damage, as all the street lamps at night were giving me poor ol' girl a bit of a hard time. Now though, the game's pretty smooth 98% of the time.
Second thought was that the initial, taxi-based missions were DULL! Still, I suppose it's only setting a bit of background...it gets A LOT more interesting once you actually join the Mafia!
Gameplay-wise, everything is pretty top notch, first-class entertainment so far, although I can't help thinking it's basically the same as GTA3 (with more action indoors) and the general handling of the vehicles can be really irritating at first. Still, stick at it and it comes eventually. :)
At the moment, I'm on a mission called 'The W***e' (I think)...no prizes for guessing what's roughly involved in this mission. ;) Having a bit of a hard time taking out/evading all the guards in the building, but once you get yourself a sawn-off shotgun, things get a fair bit easier.
Oh, and for all the perves out there, you'll be glad to here the female interaction hots up a bit at times. Don't forget, this game IS a 15. ;)
There's lots more space if you go down the ramp way instead, and just take out the baddies slowly level by level.
When you get to the top of the level, before triggering the cutscene, make a barricade using two cars to block to ramp entrance, then when the baddies start shooting at you, try to shoot at the front radiators, blowing the cars and the baddies up, saving you health and ammo.
When the car drives up after about a minute, it won't be able to get past the barricade, so it'll be a bit easier.
Sometimes Paulie is a bit too gung-ho and gets killed, which can very be annoying, but if you go the ramp way you'll have more space and he shouldn't get in your way too much.
Dodgy AI keeps doing me out of it. Sam/Paulie keep running in front of me when I'm shooting, then they go charging off getting themselves killed, which ends the level.
I tried going down the stairs and threw a grenade down to clear the way, only for Sam &Paulie to stand behind me, blocking the route back up and getting us all killed by the grenade.
Really peeing me off now.

No offence and I know you mean well, but how far up your own hole ARE you?! ;)
I remember how to do all of the game, so if anyone gets really stuck, I'd be happy to help out.
Cheers, big ears
at the top right hand corner of the map....there are loadsa those red towers right...
well near them you should see his car parked outside one of the buildings...
nearby there should be some trains held there by these wedges...
change the course of the tracks so that the train hits the building when you release the wedge...
beat it on the 6 try comfortably...you should probably check out some of the routes the ai take wookie...
