Nearly everyone has got a PC in their homes (otherwise we wouldn't be chating here now) so they don't need another console just for the games and the DVD drive because the PC has them all.
Also the PC won't catch fire if left on all day unlike the Xbox, which offers only a measly one hour 0f gameplay until it burns throught either the table or carpet.
So basically all you have to do is:
1: Wait an extra mnth for the game you want
2: It saves you £5- £10 pounds on a game
3: It saves you £150 on an Xbox (which could be used to buy a new graphics card instead
4: Can offer all day gameplay without burn marks on the furniture.
and 5: You can use the DVD player without paying another £30's on the controller.
This time I want positve responses from people who agree with what I have stated
Err don't know much about PC games do you? For a start RTCW was one of the biggest PC games around when it was released, and was ported to X-box.
> Splinter Cell
I can't say for certain, but I strongly think this would be released on the PC, it's a Tom Clancy game, and they started on the PC.
> Ghost Recon
Tom Clancy? Probably on PC, there are loads of great (well, I don't like them but) Tom Clancy games on the PC anyway.
> Counter-Strike
Christ, you'd have to be an idiot to think this wasn't a PC game! Only one of the most played online games around..
> Metal Gear Solid: Substance
Thats on PC
> Conflict Desert Storm
So's that, also listed as a GC game too.

May go to PC in future, the previous games did

That will go to PC, plus it's hardly short on decent FPS anyway.
> Turok Evolution
Well thats just multi-format..

All PC games ported to console.

If this wasn't what you two were talking about then ignore it, it was a bit hard trying to figure out what that sentence actually meant..*_*

I have to point out that I've seen many an X-box crash in the shops (I don't own one so I can't judge it on long-term playing). I also have managed to crash (accidentally) a Playstation 2 whilst in the middle of a multiplayer game of TimeSplitters.
I've so far not managed to crash the GameCube, but there's always the possibility. No technology is fullproof.

Jet Set Radio Future is one of the only titles I'd consider getting an X-box for at this moment.

And most of Nintendo's aren't ? The key is that the ones that are multiformat are shared with other consoles but a number are only shared with one other console instead of both the other competitors (i.e MGS: Substance).
In the end it comes down to whose getting the best all round collection thats goes to your taste. All 3 consoles have their exclusives so besides looking in that area, you want a good number of quality third party titles as well.
As for the games that are going to PC (or indeed even already exist), the bonus of playing them on a console is that you don't have the worry in the back of your head that the game will crash at any moment.
I hate playing on PC's for this reason.
Get it together.
As great as my Gamecube is, it doesn't really have large scale online plans, there's, as yet, no options for 16 player matches, and some of my friends have xbox's, so I can swap games with them.
There's also a neat selection of exclusives coming out.
I'd still not recommend it INSTEAD of a Gamecube, but if you CAN afford both...
It's a little too much for me at the moment - 160 pounds is a good price, but not quite worth it for a secondary console - the Gamecube is all I need for the moment.
But when the price drops further (it will eventually), I have more money and my house gets broadband, I might well get one.
It can sit underneath the GC.
I could probably fit my Snes and N64 on it too... ;-D
> is that right about only being able to leave it on for an hour.
Not true at all, it's utter sh*te.
It seems the ninty fanboy was getting desperate for bad things to say about Xbox. I really have heard them all now. I've had my Xbox on overnight when I forgot to turn it off after using it late, no problems at all.
Christ, I wish people like that would actually check their facts first, instead of being such biast chimps. And don't you start (not aimed at JD) calling *me* a fanboy, as I am not. I could prove it, but I really cannot be bothered for the likes of this newbie.
