Cube Europe have reported a rumour that Microsoft have bought Rare for $350 million. It's said there going to announce it at their X-box show at the end of the month, along with X-box exclusives such as Perfect Dark Zero.
I doubt this is true, but at least with this rumour we will know at the end of September..
Also Animal Leader isn't being released in Europe *cries*
And Doshin isn't being released in America.

do none of you have faith in nintendo?, they own 49% of rare im sure that shigsey and co wont jsut let microsoft wlase in and take over rare turning all the games to x box exclusives, there smarter than that, give em some credit,
It's not that I mind Rare going multi-format, if they were. But I don't want to see Perfect Dark, Kameo, Conker, Banjo Kazooie etc becoming X-box exclusive, do you?

No before you get the stones ready to throw at me let me finsih.
Firstly gamecube is no N64 where rare was needed to make games as development for the N64 was almost none, the GC is more of a Snes.
Sure not as big becuase at the time home consoles were almost just another gimmick(sp) just like shoot em ups were for consoles, goldeneye made shooters on console what they are and i wish people would stop trying to find a beater of the game becuase there will never be one becuase at the time it was a land mark in console gaming.
So anyway the GC is doing well enough, sure the games would really boost sales and also the huge AAA games already on the GC.
In my veiws rare is just another developer, ok a really good developer, but is not a make or break developer for nintendo any more.
Xbox, although very powerful, has not sold that well and rare going to them would mean they would lose money and their games would not sell as much. I see MS thinking that people will buy the Xbox becuase of rare but i wouldnt, i think i can cope with out banjo and jo dark.

Well they didn't say they would never release it, but it isn't on the list at the moment.
I'm going to wait until Christmas, mainly so I can hear from everyone what the freeloader is like, if it runs perfectly and doesn't cause any problems etc. Then, if theres still no UK release set, I'll import it.
Anyway I'm going to bed 'early' tonight, so I'll leave you to kip on your sofa or suffer the 'noises' from your sister's room :)

It just got worse, when they said Animal Leader I assumed they meant Cubeivore, as it used to be called Animal Leader. But no. They meant Animal Crossing! No Animal Crossing in Europe! I was *really* looking forward to that game!
Yet the bloody Americans get it!
