the game cube is a kiddie piece of crap that is only good for being a heavy door stop.
Mario looks like a dodgy 70's porn star and all the multi format games all look cack on the silly cube.
the joypad is a joke. the x box was said to be to big but the game cube is far to small and the D pad is to small for my little finger let alone my thumb.
if i saw a Game Cube on fire i wouldn't even take a wiz to put it out i'd run and grab all the spirits and petrol i could to fuel the fire instead.
face it ninty's the GC is a bigger dissapointment that the N64 was.
second rate graphics with second rate games.
that's it

Its ok, I'm not here to try and make anyone look stupid or anything, just putting my point accross. :-)

Yeah but then saying that, take away the bad guys from a world in Mario and your left with pretty much the same thing. You might keep yourself amused jumping around the area for a few minutes, but its not going to give you your £40 worth is it. Same goes for surfing on a shell - in answer to that I could say its fun to grab a warthog (jeep) or a Ghost (hover bike) in Halo and just ride around, jumping them off high ground to see what stupid stuff I can do in it. :-)
The way Halo plays is exactly why I like it so much more than the average shooters that are around nowadays. Its not a case of running into a huge wave of enemies with a mini gun and mowing them down. The enemies (and allies) are intelligent and act individually. They don't just run at your bullets, they use tactics against you which is what makes the battles so excellent to be a part of. People that just run in without thinking soon become overwhelmed.
This also makes the game last a long time because there are so many ways you can tackle situations. One time you might go in and thanks to 3 or 4 marines surviving, they might help you in some way whereas another time only one might survive and your left having to deal with a situation differently.
I still play Halo a lot now and theres not many games I've owned in the past that have kept me going for so long - this includes games like Mario 64, Goldeneye, GTA3, etc.
What I'm doing is no worse than you lot presuming that Mario Sunshine is going to be some god send. Not to mention the talk of Metroid Prime being this "Halo Beater" - whose played it ?
I've looked into what the games are about, what the player will be doing in the game, the eye candy areas and from that I've formed an opinion just like basically everyone does with games that are being covered. :-)
Theres also games that look complete pants that I wouldn't wanna touch with a barge poll - i.e. Superman: Man of Steel and WWE Crush Hour (a complete crappy looking WWE racer for those that don't know).

You misunderstood.
Halo is great for it's scenario.
The battles are intense and awesome.
Most of the levels would be fairly dull without the constant shooting action though.
In Mario, there's a world and a character that you control, and you're free to do what you like, when you like and how you like.
Jumping up onto buildings, surfing on shells, running around, beating enemies.
In Halo, you play through a level, beat the obstacles to reach the end and go through a relatively linear story path - like most games.
Mario is just pure freedom in gameplay - one of the very few of it's kind.
