Can you remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard about it.

I don't mean to be disrespectful or anything.

Everyone is said to be able to remember where they were when kennedy was assassinated.

I was opening a bank account, when I came out mark and lards usual show was just songs and the occasional news update, I couldn't believe what was going on.

That was definitely a land mark in my life. The berlin walls collapse was pale in comparison.

Where were you?

I didn't have any lessons that day, so I was in bed. When I got up and was in the shower, they were reporting it on the radio, saying one plane had hit and they didn't know if it was an accident, and that the Pentagon had also been hit.

Then I went downstairs and it was on all the channels. The first tower had just collapsed, and I saw the second one collapse live. I didn't really know what the buildings were, but after September 11th, I spotted them in every single film made in New York

I was still on holiday from uni and had been helping my mum packing some boxes with things as a few days later we would be getting new central heating installed.

I then sat down to watch Bugs on Bravo, but felt that i needed to go to Sky News for some reason that I cant explain.

I then just sat watching the horror unfold in front of my eyes.

Also my best friend was actually in NY at the time, but was a good few miles from the twin towers.

Same here. I didn't get in until a while after 4pm, then my dad told me and I didn't think anything of it - I just thought it was an accident. When I turned on the TV, it kinda sunk in that it was a terrorist attack. I'm really going to be doing anything special for September 11th, just continuing on with my normal, boring life.

well mines scarier. I was listening to U2 as well, but the song was Bloody Sunday! the lyrics are quite shockingly interlinked to the disaster:

I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes
And make it go away
How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? How long...
'cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...

Broken bottles under children's feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I won't heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

And the battle's just begun
There's many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters
Torn apart

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? How long...
'cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...tonight...

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

Wipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Oh, wipe your blood shot eyes
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Sunday, Bloody Sunday (Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die

(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

The real battle just begun
To claim the victory Jesus won
On...

Sunday Bloody Sunday
Sunday Bloody Sunday

verses 1, 2 and 3 although talking about something completelly different but it is scary how close they are to the event!

I was in Maths

Didn't know until I got home

Strange thing was I went to corner shop on way home and Sweetest Thing by U" was playing on the radio... whenever I hear the song I just remember the trade towers.
