I need a laptop for on the move recording any ideas?

Laptops are good for portable recording, movies can be tested on a bigger screen to give you a better idea of the gain and other stuff, audio needs more than a dictaphone really, I did a lot of outside recording last year with a portable MD recorder and it was annoying because we always got too much background noise and had to go out and re-record whereas if you have a laptop (maybe some external speakers) you'd be able to get a better idea of what you've recorded (portable recorders have really shabby speakers).
Also if your using a Laptop you can plug whatever your using into it and record straight onto the hdd.
