New Coldplay album

The name of the album and the artwork are really the only things that let this album down a bit.

It's fantastic

I though Parachutes was alright and had three great songs (Shiver, Yellow and Trouble) but many average songs to fill up space. I never really paid that *much* attention to them and thought they were you know alright.

So this morning I got the album... alos Definately Maybe and By The Way.

Quickly put Coldplay on mini-disc and went off to school.

First song Politik is the best they have done... got guitars and piano all mashed together it rules.

In My Place you've all heard... it's good.

The other favourite of mine is Clocks... starts with piano but goes off into strings and piano.

The whole album is just much better than parachutes... more emotion, more direction.

Much more Radiohead/U2 than crappy Travis/Stereophonics

If you thought first album was alright and have copy then you should get this.

If you hate them... then errr don't buy it.

They have gone up in my ratings

Personally I think they're rubbish.

I really can't see why they're rated so highly. All their songs that I've heard seem to sound amazingly similar, and they're all too miserable as well.

Too slow, too boring, to samey.

So there you go.

I didn't really like them until I heard the Glastonbury set.. I always thought they were a bit limp.. but I dunno, some of it made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck which is always a good sign.

Mind you I wont be buying their album this week as Songs for the Deaf is out and that will no doubt rock.

Yes, I like this. But then, I've always liked them, a slimmed down Radiohead with no calories.

I havn't had much time to really listen to it but 'Politik' does indeed rock, a good start to an Album. I also liked 'God put a smile on your face', nice chord sequence.

After only two listens, I like, and it can only grow on me some more.
