The name of the album and the artwork are really the only things that let this album down a bit.
It's fantastic
I though Parachutes was alright and had three great songs (Shiver, Yellow and Trouble) but many average songs to fill up space. I never really paid that *much* attention to them and thought they were you know alright.
So this morning I got the album... alos Definately Maybe and By The Way.
Quickly put Coldplay on mini-disc and went off to school.
First song Politik is the best they have done... got guitars and piano all mashed together it rules.
In My Place you've all heard... it's good.
The other favourite of mine is Clocks... starts with piano but goes off into strings and piano.
The whole album is just much better than parachutes... more emotion, more direction.
Much more Radiohead/U2 than crappy Travis/Stereophonics
If you thought first album was alright and have copy then you should get this.
If you hate them... then errr don't buy it.
They have gone up in my ratings
> Go and by the debut album by The Music instead, it's MUCH better.
Ignoring the fact that you are slagging off the amazing new Colplay album...
I was wondering about the Music. I take it that its worth purchasing?
I like it so there
"Ooo here's the piano intro...and now my voice...here comes the guitar...a bit louder and then stops...now I repeat...I repeat...I repeat the first bit...and here comes the guitar...the guitar...the guitar...and we're all here for the chorus oh yeah...oh yeah...oh yeah for the chorus...now it's just me...now it's just me...aren't women mean?...to me...to me...to me...and we're all back in for the next bit...for the next bit...for the next bit....and end"
Easy.
Download Spin, Stanley Climbfall or The Sky Is Falling.
Some of the tracks remind me of Words Get Around by the Stereophonics (the first, good album, not crappy Cocktails Enough to JEEP or whatever)
It does bear more homage to Radiohead though. Which in my opinion can only be a good thing.
*has it on*
