"Do Graphics make a difference?"

When you sit down in your chair and play your beloved game, you all know that we think about many things whilst we are playing. Now i know i will be called a "shallow" gamer but i think that if you ask yourself honestly then you may find that you agree with what i say.

Everyone goes on about how they don't care about graphics, which i think is wrong, we all look at our games and if they are spectacular then we think wow, like when you see the first cut scene in FFX or the detail on Raiden's face in MGS2.

Now you are all sitting there thinking i don't care about graphics.

Well ask yourself this, if FFX came along looking like FF6, i know that some of you would be put off, but hardcore FF fans would stick to it. Now how many of you have said the graphics on that are "well good!"?

Do not get me wrong, gameplay is very important to me but i have been put off Zelda by the graphics as many people, now i know you are all disagreeing but hey, my opinion and i dislike cel shaded graphics. Zelda will be a great game in it's own but had it have been like the demos shown when the GC was the dolphin (project name) then it would have attracted many more people!

I know that some will agree and others will disagree but i just wanted to get my opinion over.

Ashley, that is a girl's name, Sir Auron is a fictional character and i take it you don't like FF or have not played FFX as Sir Auron is not camp, like i said, you a girl or boy, your name is for both!

OK, i think once again people have misunderstood, i was trying to say that people say that they don't care about graphics, they just want the gameplay.

I was saying in my opinion i think both are needed for a great game as when you watch MGS2 or FFX cut scenes you think wow the graphics are great. etc etc etc.

Get it?

Gameplay means a lot but i wont buy a game if its graphics are poor, but then again the gameplay wouldnt be as good becuase graphics add to the gameplay.

*gets a headache and decides to leave the people figh.... discuss the topic more.

In addition to being a moron, you're a hypocrite. You wrote 'everyone' says graphics don't matter. Just because your mate Ted says he prefers Tetris to MGS2 doesn't make that true either. I guess I should change my statement to '99% of people agree'.

Auron, I was agreeing with Tiltawhirl, not you: my reply was ridiculing your question in the subject header.

Also, in your post you say people pretend they don't care about graphics - rubbish. This question has been asked so many times on the net and in magazines that everyone agrees they are a factor.
