*if you have not seen it, and are bothered about what happened skip this part*
Well after Janeway came from the future to help get enterprise home earlier, and then help devise a method to get voyager back home AND kill the Borg, I am curious. The Borg queen stated while she was falling apart, from what would be the Borg equivelent of Parkinson's, that if the Borg cube, or in this instance a sphere, caught voyager and blew it up, then the actions of the Janeway from the future would be erased.
Therefore if Janeway were to die at some time between the borg being destroyed and janeway reaching the age at which "She" killed the borg, then her actions would be erased and the borg would once again be alive.
Is this correct?
*end of spoiler*
If it had been some new discovery on a planet that says "We`ll send you home, free of charge", or merely a visit from Q saying "I`m sorry, but I just can`t resist, I`m sending you home" it wouldn`t have made a very good climax, but at least it would have been believeable.
As Grandprix said, you don`t mess with time, it always gets you into trouble:
Janeway manages to get home, but only after 16 years or whatever it was, and in that time she loses lots of crew members, including Seven, (so its probably a good thing that we weren`t forced to watch it all). In the future, bitter angry Janeway goes back in time to help innocent unknowing Janeway.
Innocent unknowing Janeway of the present is now given a new way home. This means that she won`t grow older with the knowledge of Seven's death, or the decaying mental stability of Tuvok. This means she will never be old and grumpy Janeway, and will not be the same if she comes back in time to help herself (if she does at all).
So that means these are two completely seperate Janeways existing along two seperate timelines. This is possible in theory, as its often thought that time branches every instant as every tiny little decision is made, ranging from tiny things like the placing of your finger on the keyboard, right up to the "Do we push the bomb button or not?" type moments. However the problem is that a Janeway on one timeline has contacted the Janeway on another timeline, and I can`t see how this would work.
If old grumpy Janeway can talk to young innocent Janeway, then those are the two existing Janeways, but if young Janeway becomes old peaceful Janeway then there will be two Janeways in the future, both existing together.
Okay, its confusing and stupid, and I guess that the writers just decided that because we know so little about time travel we might as well manipulate it as we like, but they could have at least tried to make it fit.
ripper, the original series I havent seen enough of really, but the effects were so poor that they're laughable now.
The Klingons in Enterprise are all wrong.
Thats all I have to say about that.
Kirk gets off with someone every episode, there's always a fight, and Kirk manages gravity defying drop kicks that surely hurt hi more than anyone else he ever hits with them, and crew members often go psycho and start killing people.
"Dammit Jum, I'm a Doctor, not a SPOON!"
top stuff.
