The front door was locked, no one was home. I tried the back door. Locked.

Around the back of the house I notice that one of the windows wasn't closed properly, it wasn't on it's latch.

It's just a tiny window, but after fetching a piece of garden furniture, I can pull it open. Once I pulled in open, I could get my hand in to open one of the latches on the large window. I couldn't reach the latch at the bottom though, so I looked around the garden. There was a large metal spoon sitting there, no doubt having been used for some gardening purpose. I picked this up, and reaching in through the little window I was able to pull the second latch out of position, and get the window open.

Seconds later I was in, I closed the window up quickly so no one would see that it had been open.

It only took 5 minutes, and I was in. Nothing broken, no signs of a break in.

It was my own house, after having locked my keys in, but it took me just a couple of minutes to find a way in. How long would it take a proffessional?

I'll be double checking all the windows next time I go out. I'll be buggered if I leave my keys inside again though.

I was once locked out on the way home from school, so I knocked on my neighbour to ask if he had a spare key. He didn't, but he let me go through into his garden so I could hop the fence, as a load of builders were in my garden. They didn't have a key either (they'd been let through the garage before my dad left) so I went into my garage and looked through some old photos of me as a kid... for over an hour. Wish I'd been on detention or something, at least then I could've talked to someone (albeit, quietly) then when I got home someone would've been there to let me in

If it happened now, I could've worked out since I have weights in me garage now, but back then I was stuck with nothing to do. Grr

Broke into my house once. I scaled the garage roof, and went over into the back garden. From there I was able to get into the unlocked back door of the garage. Retrieving a file from the garage, I went back around the front. Putting my hand and the file through the letterbox, I was able to move the catch, and then turn the lock from the inside.

It was either that, or admit I'd forgotton my key. So it was worth a try, even for the strange looks I got...

Once, when out on the lash, I stumbled home to find not only did they have the mortis lock on (for which I had a key) but also the chain. Don't know what they were playing at, they never lock the door properly when they know people are still out. Anyway, I unlocked the mortis lock... then simply slipped my hand through the crack to take the chain off. Some security!

I was always skinny enough to get in through our toilet window, the thin top ones... it was really thin. Really thin. Like me.

So along comes about a year ago, locked ourselves out, and I thought I'd try again.

Oh dear.

Nearly cracked my ribs, and ended up yelling "pull me back pull me back" as my face began to slowly decend into the unflushed toilet bowl.

Not an experience I'm going to forget, but definitely one I'm going to look back on and laugh.

And no, I didn't fall in the toilet. Nearly though.

The way I break into my house is the following: I get a broom stick (without the brushes) and because I'm small, I shove it and my hand through th letterbox and push the catch up. How long? 20seconds! My parents were shocked. And cos we had un-trustworth neighbours (one my size) we weren't sure whether they could break in...scary stuff.

So, who wants to come round my house tonight?

It's not hard to break into most houses, locked or not, I know.
