The fact is that people have to buy the console which will set them back £200+ and then pay for the broadband internet.
For all the people that have got the money to buy broadband then it will be a great hit but the rest of the nation will all be crying!
Just think about it this way, you are paying £360+ a year to have access to the internet. If you just got a normal dial up connection at £13.99 a month you would have £192 to spend on games to play offline.
Is it worth 5 new games just to be able to play older games on the internet?
Basically, although it is good for MS to release it here as it will result in extra income. It will not be as big as I believe they hope it will, in fact, it will be increadibly poor!
We need cheaper internet! Grab your pitch forks and head down to the BT HQ!
I don't really care if it takes off here though, my mate is going to get broadband soon so I can just pop down the road and have a game!
-I AM NOT IN ANYWAY SAYING THAT XBOX IS CRAP! IM JUST STATING A FEW POINTS ABOUT XBOX LIVE!-
Don't moan, please!
*Hangs head and takes all the abuse, notes down that plan to fool people didn't work*
It might be old news, When I used to have the old Playstaion 2 games system, I remember reading that it would be £200 for the lot in a mag.
Xbox Live won't be "poor", a lot of my friends have Broadband and most people from the Xbox forum do! Broadband is becoming available to more and more of the United Kingdom, lets just put it this way, just be glad you don't live in Australlia, my cousin has lived out there for a year and she worked for a company promoting ADSL internet, the cheapest works out at £89.99 a month and only companies have access to it! Some people she spoke to hadn't even heard of cable modems. The most expensive cable connection is £200 a month and even then you don't own the digital connection box! Just thank your lucky stars that we have a cheap*er* (although still extortionate) Broadband internet! Role on XBOX LOVE!
Also i don't believe that Xbox Live is going to be "poor" in the UK. Over 100,000 have signed up for the beta test, thats from Europe and North America alone.
Put it this way, PS2 online you'd have to fork out £200 for the hard drive and stuff....
I pay £14.99 a month for my cable internet (128kbp/s)and hopefully the 512kbp/s connection will go down in rpice around christmas time.
