[U]Machie's Charity Night QUIZ[/U]

Date : Thursday 14th September
Time : 7PM

This Thursday you are invited to take part in my Charity Night QUIZ. Thanks to Freeola we have an EXTRA GAMEADAY worth £30 for you to win.

The QUIZ will be made up of 60 questions and split into two halves. The first 30 questions will be based on General Knowledge. The second half will be made up of questions from three categories. These are, Video Games, Movies & Television and Sports.

How To Play
If you would like to play, please be sure to turn up before the quiz starts. If you do arrive late, that is unfortunate but please feel free to join in anyway.

Shortly before the quiz begins, I will create 2 threads. One of them I will be using to post all the questions. The other, is for you to post all your answers.

You can only make one answer in each post. As soon as you see the next question, post your answer as fast as possible. Even if someone has already answered it, post it anyway as you'll still earn points.

Each correct answer will earn you 1 point. If you are the first person to answer correctly then you will receive 2 points. However there is a time limit of 1 minute for your answer to be accepted.

New questions will be posted every minute so be sure to keep refreshing your browser until the next question appears. After the first half is finished, there will be a short break and then we will continue with the second half.

The results and the winner, will be announced as soon as possible after the quiz has finished.

Who Can Play
Anyone. As long as you have registered, you are free to take part in the quiz.

Rules
- You are not allowed to edit your answers, so do not worry if you make a spelling mistake.

- Unfortunately Staffies are not allowed to take part in this competition.

Just to let you know, the winners list will show the charity donation and quiz prize winner in the middle of next week as we announce a week behind, wouldn't want to deprive last weeks winners of a prize ;) and we announce the website(s) of the week winners on Monday and Tuesday.

I'm awake :) god I had about 9-10 hours sleep and I still feel the same as when I went to bed. heh. I'm start to feel alright now but I do feel a bit tired not sure whether I should have a nap later or not. Dont want to mess up my sleeping patterns.

Okay sorry the quiz results is taking so long, please understand if it was a normal day it would have been done within the hour but I was near death last night and hand trouble counting all the ticks heh.

I'll start going through all the results one by one, posting the answers, who won the bonus points and what answers I would accept. I'm afraid I'll have to be strict and award on full names and translations only. With the exception of the question on the Queen and the winner of Big Brother, I didn't expect anyone to know his last name ;)

Looking at the scores from last night and taking exact answers only, it looks as though Smedlos has won. I'll confirm everything shortly, I've just been asked to go to the bank for my mum (about my trip to Singapore).

Thanks to all those who took part in the quiz, I'm glad it did so well. It'd be great if we could do some more on here. Perhaps offer one of the GADs for a quiz, then volunteers can take turns hosting them. No reward except the kudos from those taking part :)

Ah right I'd had a tot up myself but depending on how strict he is with some of the answers depends whos won.

I think Machie said in another thread he thought it was you Smedlos, but I think he was gonna do a recount and re-check it all and whatnot after he got some sleep...

So how many Q's are there gonna be...? 60? So it'll finish at 8ish? Or will there be a break after the first 30 or something?

I'm just wondering when I'll start cooking something for my tea... I think I'm gonna have fish and chips + peas...


[EDIT] - Just noticed, says there'll be a short break between the 2 sets of Qs.

You can join in or leave anytime you want but obviously if you're in it for the entire hour you've got a better chance of winning it :)
