"URL bar images - help please!"

I know how clever some of you guys are in netcode so I hope you can help me out. I know it's possible to put personal images in the URL bar (I'm talking Internet Explorer here, for SR its just a page with E on it) but I don't know how. If anyone's got the code for doing this I'd be very appreciative. And how big can the image be, and what file type? (pixels)

what and it'll just show in the URL bar automatically? No code?

I upload them with FTP and change the filename online, I never got Photoshop/Fireworks to make icons, must give that a go.

Actually... you don't. You can use Photoshop or Fireworks to create them as long as they are in system colour pallet and the correct size. you just save with the .ico extention. You just can't open them in eith of these programs.

Been using Fwks for years to create icons.

You need to make a bitmap, 32x32 pixels, and in either 256 or 16bit colour. Once you've made this, you need a piece of software to convert it to a .ico, http://www.xoomhacker.com/BMP2ICO2.EXE came up after a quick search. Change it to a .ico file and name it favicon.ico and then upload it into your websites root directory, huzzah.
