Hey, my Mum keeps shuttig down my computer in the morning because of the noise it makes, even though I am doing everything I can to quieten it. I have just spent £20 on a Papst silent fan FFS, so I'm not happy about her constantly turning this off at all.
Can anyone think of any steps I can take?

There's nothing you can, or will be able to do. At the end of the day if your mum wants the machine off, she can unplug it from the wall, everything needs electricity to run, stop wasting your money, and leave the thing off whilst your not there.
Disable the mouse, then just enable it with the keyboard when you want to go on the computer? Or does she know the secret of Alt+F4?
