Most of my friends say that the PS2 is better than the GC. They just make up stupid reasons EG "The PS2 is better than the GC because it plays DVD's" but the whole point of a computer console is to play games on it not DVD's and they say "The GC has only half the power of the PS2" and "there are only 2 good GC games and they are Burnout and Tony Hawk's 3" I mean look we have the entire Resident Evil sereis, Mario Sunshine, Starfox Adventures and Eternal Darkness. They are just pre judging the GC.

They work as "Sales Assistants" at Tesco and other large food stores, either that or they are behind bars with convictions for offences like stealing car radios, or assault.

The PS2 became popular for some very basic reasons.
1) it made the PSOne redundant, so many PSOne owners traded in their console for the PS2.
2) DVD. Not a good DVD player, but a dvd player nonetheless.
3) Lack of competition. The only challenge coming from SEGA's almost completely unadvertised DreamCast
It is for these reasons that the PS2 is where it is now. Sony fans boast their huge games library, but the vast majority of this library is PS1 games, and what can only be classed as "chaff" games for the PS2. In my opinion, there are perhaps 15 games worth looking at on the system after 2 years of availablity. If I owned a PS2, I'd probably only own about 5 games for it.
I have 7 games for my GC, I'll have at least 10 before christmas, probably about 12-13.
The GC loses out on DVD player (like everyone hasn't got one anyway), and on backward compatibility, but for tech spec and average game quality, it blows it out of the water.
By christmas, what will PS2 players claim? DVD? No, a version of the GC will be available
Games library? No. The GC will have a rapidly expanding library of its own.
Backward compatibility then? Hardly. Pick up a PS1 for £20 or even less, and you have GC and PS1 for far less than the price of a PS2...
The only thing they can argue is "my console is bigger than yours nya nya nya"
To which we promptly point to the xbox and say "load of good size does you, muppets"

That's why Nintendo can offer it to us at such a great price. If it played dvd's then if would be closer to £200 and would be as bad as the PS2 and XBOX, and can you imagine if it played dvd's then the top would be HUGE.

Ask them if they like RE. If they say yes then you can say ha ha we've got them all, and when they deny it you can just say. "It's true. The developers dicided the ps2 was CRAP and moved it to a good console that could manage the graphics and power needed to run the games. Even a simple game on the gc(Universal studios for example)would blow up the ps2.

AT THE MOMENT..i think ps2 is better merely cos it has a larger (much larger) catalogue of great games out now...
gc only has a few...the killer games are yet to come.

i read somewhere that in one of these big games awards thingsy , Tony Hawks 3 won game of the year with pikmin and other ace games not even being entered !
