Whats this new XBOX LIVE another scheme to boost sales!! Well sure, to use it you'll need to buy a pack with mic etc costing $49 in America. $49 all they asking for to boost popularity, yeh right.
Why would you want a Xbox, it may have good graphics but thats all. Long live the SONY with their PS2.
First of all I will tell you that after owning a PS2 and Xbox I can safely say that the Xbox does have a stronger DVD player. The DVD Playback kit is definatley worth the money (although I got it for free after a complaint about the Reward Pack). The functions that the remote enable can only be found on top-end DVD players, everything from camera change to
launguage settings can all be operated from the Xbox DVD remote. The Reciever plaugs into 1 of the 4 Xbox ports and it can pick up a signal from anywhere in the room, there is no need to point it 1 meter away from the screen hoping to pick up a signal. Overall I would rate the DVD Playback kit very highly and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't already have a very good DVD player!
I sold my PS2 to get an Xbox and I haven't regreted it since. You are joining the Xbox market at just the right time, you can pick up excellent launch titles along with an array of superb ones being released between now and christmas. The Xbox (in my opinion) is by far the best console on the market, whether you take this seriously or not it is entirley up to you, but I owned a PS2 and didn't like it and I have played a GameCube and wasn't impressed with the games on offer, I now own an Xbox and after playing all 3 next-generation consoles I made the choice of choosing the best available, trust me you won't regret it!
As for games outside Halo, there are quite a few, here are the ones that I would *DEFINATLEY* buy if I was you:
Halo - In my top 3 games of all time (along with Shenmue and Max Payne) and definatley the best first-person shooter of all time, the game is absorbing, lenghty and one of the best gaming experiences out there. The game is spread over 10 levels of extreme size, team up with Marines, Drive awesome land and air vehicles and fight your way through different Alien forces in order to escape Halo, this is without a doubt a near perfect title!
10/10
Max Payne - As I stated above, this game is possibly the most *COMPELLING* title ever made, the story blows is towers above any other game available and the world of 'gangster' land New York is brought to life in a game that deserves the *BAFTA* that it won, the graphics are unbelievable and the sounds are easily the best on a video-game, this game is behind Halo in my list of games but not by much!
9.7/10
Project Gotham Racing - Just chose this game for a GAD win and after playing the Demo I knew straight away that this game was a bench-mark title. The cars look breath-taking and the level of realism has gone up along way since MSR on the Dreamcast. After playing GT3 on the PS2 for 5 months (nearly straight) I can safely say that this is a better alternative, fast racing, awesome cars, customizable sound-tracks and a points system that revolutionises console gaming! Definatley pick this game up!
9.6/10
Dead Or Alive 3 - If you are looking for a game to show of your Xbox's power, this is the one. The graphics are the *BEST* I have ever seen and the gameplay is spot on. Each fighter has their own characteristics, fight on multiple levels, smash opponents through buildings, glass and any other in-game object that gets in the way, the level of interactivity is outrageous and it makes this game the top fighter of all time, do not deny yourself this experience!
9.2/10
RalliSport Challenge - Yet another Xbox graphical master-piece, this game both looks great and sounds awesome, customize your own sound tracks for playback, race in different gaming environments, winning races will unlock new cars which are required for the later races, a very kind learning curve which starts off easy but quickly becomes very hard. This game will take you a long time to complete but it is definatley worth it! By far the best Rally game I have ever played and a must own Xbox title.
9.1/10
Those are the games which I own, but I have played the following games games (completed them all) and this is what I would give them out of 10, some aren't bench-mark titles but they have been play tested by myself and this what I would give them:
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 - 9.6/10
Amped: Freestlye Snowboarding - 9.4/10
James Bond In Agent Under Fire - 9.2/10
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee - 9.1/10
Gun Valkyrie - 9.0/10 (Very Hard)
Jet Set Radio Future - 8.8/10
Ultimate Fighting Championship: Tapout - 8.6/10
Spider Man: The Movie - 7.4/10
Wreckless - 6.9/10
Burnout - 6.3/10

That is the release list for games over the next year and a half, the games I am really looking forward to come with a description in brackets, but to be honest I am looking forward to them all! This release calendar looks out of this world, the games are very widely spread across different genres.
The future of the Xbox looks very strong indeed, Xbox Live will be launched towards the end of this year and the realease calendar looks out of this world.
Xbox Live will utitlise the Xbox's Hard-Drive and will give gamers the oppertunity to:
Download Extra Levels/Characters/In game features
Enable players to play across the net (Unreal Championship is launch title)
Talk to other gamers on-line about Xbox games
Xbox Live will revolutionise the way we game, although the Dreamcast was the first console to have on-line capabilties it could never do what Xbox Live has planned. Utilisisng the Hard-Drive enables a gamer to extend their experience and ensure that they maximise gaming to its limit. Phantasy Star On-Line will enable players to play through a single campaign on the net (just like the Dreamcast version) but with drastic improvements over the Dreamcast version it looks like this game could be one to watch out for.
Microsoft are working on a Light-Gun for the Xbox at the moment, the Light-Gun is said to bring shooting games up to the level it should be at, House Of The Dead 3 is likely to be the first game available for the Light-Gun and by all accounts it should be something to get very excited about.
Convincing your parents, the hardest yet most obvious trick in the book. First of all don't fall out with them at all on the lead up to the magical question. Work at them, show them screen-shots and explain to them what the Xbox is/can do. Tell them that if you get one you will keep quiet and stay out of the way for at least 5 years. Tell them you can win money for gaming tournamanets and explain to them the possibiblites of Xbox Live. Before discussing it with them talk about how well you are doing at school/work, discuss the *HIGH* grades you are achieving and how the manager constantly asks you about getting a pay rise and how a bonus will be in order in the near future. Most of all *BLAG* your way through the questions they ask you about why you want one and whay aren't you happy with what you have got, like me you sound like you are after everything on the market ;) If you require any more help in the convincing departement just let me know, I am an expert when it comes to convincing.
Hope this all helps!
Now why should I trade in my PS2 for an XBOX hey??? Ive been thinking really hard, should I or should I not thats the question.
Ive heard the DVD playback on the xbox is not all that like the Sony's. Lets see if any of you can really persuade me into selling me PS2 and buying a XBOX. Thats a challenge for all you XBOX users.

Erm.. if the next gen equivalent of all three consoles come out, how will it be a bigger war? If Sony bring out the PS3 in 2005, it will just show they don't care for their customers.
> Hmm, Da Xbox will never get great games such as Grand Theft Auto, or

Oh my god. How can someone be so ignorant. Grand Theft Auto will come out on the X-Box eventually and will be much, much better. In fact anyone with a PC and PS2 will probably get the PC version because it's improved, as the X-Box's will be. Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance is coming out on the X-Box, I've heard BEFORE the PS2 release. Plus, think of Halo 2 and Splinter Cell.
OF COURSE IT'S SOLD MORE! IT'S HAD NEARLY THREE YEARS TO DO SO! The PS3 will be rushed, just like the PS2, no-one will be ready and there will be no decent games. Sony are a part of the gaming industry, and are a long way away from ruling it.
> Im better off using my PC to play games, its far more better.
Then sell your PS2 you hypocrite.
> Sure sure, I have seen the Xbox, seen others play it, played it a few
> times. Im not saying it is that bad but its just a pc packed into a

> access!!
Don't make me laugh. If anyone's too pricey it's Sony. They don't care about their customers - the PS2 was rushed, was riddled with bugs and had a terrible launch line up and yet it was still £100.00 more that the X-Box at release. And now you've got to buy Memory Cards, a Hard Disk and a Broadband Modem? Look at the facts please.
> Why would you wanna buy an Xbox when you could buy a full spec PC,
> this so called Xbox its just like a pc but your using your tv and not
> a monitor.
1. X-Box is cheaper.
2. X-Box is designed to play games, so it beats the PC in that area. It is also better for multiplayer gaming.
3. You can get a better picture with your TV.

You'll have to pay to get onto the internet for ANYTHING.

Plus built in hard drive and some excellent games. Long live Microsoft, Nintendo AND Sony.
