Why would you wanna buy an Xbox when you could buy a full spec PC, this so called Xbox its just like a pc but your using your tv and not a monitor.

Whats this new XBOX LIVE another scheme to boost sales!! Well sure, to use it you'll need to buy a pack with mic etc costing $49 in America. $49 all they asking for to boost popularity, yeh right.

Why would you want a Xbox, it may have good graphics but thats all. Long live the SONY with their PS2.

It is'nt worth getting anything modded...

As soon as you mod your PS2 your warrenty is voided and after about 6-7 months you risk the console breaking down leaving you with a black paper weight.....

Same applys to xbox, as soon as you mod it you risk the conosle eventually breaking.

See see, but has any one got a site where you can get a premodded xbox for a reasonable price to play imports on. Or is it worth me gettin me ps2 chipped.

The gun is currently being made and will be out in time for the first gun game which is in fact an update to the House of The Dead series which I really like :)

Load times are immense, so far I haven't expereinced one game that has taken more than 15 seconds to load (that was Halo between levels).

If you want you could import the S-Controller, but first give the normal one a try. I think people have made the most rediculous excuses for the original pad, yes it is big but so far I haven't had any problems (After playing PGR for 4 hours straight my fingers are starting to stiffen up but thats about it). Give the normal one a try and if you still don't like it I will help you find an import site for the S-Controller, but please give it a try as I am sure you will get used to it very quickly :)

Obviously people in the Xbox forum will say get an Xbox, if you posted this in the GameCube one they would tell you different. Having said that my friend is a GameCube owner and he says get an Xbox, its a funny old world!

If you want anymore information just ask, I am glad to help if you are going to be sensible about it! It took me a while to descide whether or not it was the right descion, but having looked back I wish I had never got a PS2 in the first place, my 15th Birthday wasted :( Oh well role on 16th in October as a 5.1 system is coming my way :)

I think garbes post explained a lot of the reasons, these are my major reasons for loving my xbox (in no paticular order): -

1.Excellent Graphical Capabilitys
2.Hard Drive (enabling vast gameworlds and faster loading times, excluding the need for a memory card)
3.Excellent line up of games to come
4.Halo
5.XBOX live
6.Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound
7.Comprehensive DVD drive
8.4 Controller ports (no need for multitap)
9.Project Ego
10.Halo 2

I don't find the controller uncomfatable, but some do, you can get some third party controllers which are smaller.

Well i don't own a gamecube, used to own a PS2...

The loading times in halo are impressive, hundreds of seemingless in-game shifts and between level loading times are relativly fast. With the hard drive loading times will soon be abolished with future games.

Garbe has just said about a light gun in development

Applaud, Excellent reply garbe.

I beleive the PS2 was just a meer update of the great Playstation, with most games being un-origanal and mostly pointless sequels...

Hmm, A long thing indeed. It takes me a step closer but I want more reasons why I should upgrade, I think I want a premodded XBOX so I can buy imports from asia, but I cant find any good sites which sell this at a reasonable price.

One thing I hate about the XOBX is its controller, i like the Controller S but its not out in this country.

Tell me how fast does a game load, can anyone do any tests who have both a PS2 and a Xbox or gamecube and compare loading times, I know its a bit faster but if anyone can give a rough idea that would be useful.

One thing which I think the xbox needs are the guns, dancing mats, etc etc this would make the games more exciting like the ones on the PS2.

Come on lets see you xbox fans try and persuade me. or should i swap it for a gamecube, hmm...
