The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
To keep this thread for URLs only, I'm gonna start another for comments so please post your web addresses only in this one. :-) Hopefully we'll be able to point out mistakes and maybe some of the more experienced of the forum users can offer some guidance as to where sites are going wrong.
I'll start:

Short answer: Macromedia Fireworks MX
Long answer:
Image size: 200 x 150 pixels
File type: GIF
Palette: WebSnap Adaptive
Colours: 8
Final size: 4.04KB (OK, so it was 4KB not 3KB - but hey!)
It depends quite a lot on the images as well. If you pick a site that has lots of blue on it, it will tie in with Windows XP menus so you can reduce the number of colours. I picked a yellow and green site to minimise this.

screenshots are very hard to produce at a low file size. I was gonna use thumbnail screenshots for a sitemap on my web site, but due to the way GIF compression works, it was impossible to get the 200x200 (ish) images smaller than about 3KB.

But my new one is www.ps2-ontarget.tk but I cant get screenshots at a low file size. Could anyone help?

A better way would be to use a splash page and then set the res in a cookie for future pages to use this means you dont have to use a redirect.
