For that split second I was content and then that feeling came back, I need one and I need it now! Well only 8 and a bit days to go............................. and counting.
Also with the letter came a PS2 Registration form which it says to fill in when you get your PS2, it also says that when you send the form off they will send you a demo disk! Does this mean you do not get one in the box? Or is this a second demo disk?
BUT in terms of gameplay it is the same old FIFA so most reviews that I have seen say that you should buy ISS 2000. It does not look as good as FIFA and has some glitches but it is still better in terms of playability.
I am sick of FIFA as it is so unrealistic and the scorelines are ludicrous so I will be getting ISS. If you like hard fought 12-7 games though then I think FIFA is your game.
Finally got the letter. Now I've only got the trauma of waiting for Special Reserve to deliver the cure to my sleepless nights and high blood pressure! Just phoned them and they can only confirm that it will arrive within seven days of the 24th even though it has already been despatched to them. :-(
This means taking a whole week of work and waiting in anticipation, chewing what little is left of my fingers, (the nails went weeks ago) and kicking next doors cat for good measure every time a courier goes past and doesn't stop at my house.
Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone else
PS
Has anyone seen a review for Fifa 2001 yet?
'ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we gooooo-ooooo!!!
WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I got my letter this morning, and I've got a launch-day machine! Oh yes, sweet, sweet, sweeeeeet!
I was disappointed at first, cos I had two letters, and neither had the PS2 logo on them - which I was expecting, as there was a logo on the pre-order confirmation.
So, I opened the first envelope... junk mail... binned it.
Opened the second... didn't notice the PS2 logo at first, but recognised the pre-order number. Wow! Heart started thumping... skipped over all the other crap in the letter... "I want the date. Give me the date."
My eyes focused on the date - everything else seemed to fade to black, just like in the movies, as "launch day" and "24th November" filled my view.
"YEEESSSSS!" I screamed. The cat ran a mile, the dog started barking, and my heartbeat started to return - very slowly - to normal.
It felt better than when I got my A-level results. What a buzz!
Good luck to the rest of you who have yet to receive your final letters. It's a hell of a moment!
I hope in your case i am wrong but it is better to be realistic than to build your hopes to be dashed. If you have a blue pre order form try ringing the helpline on 0990 998877 quote your pre order number and they tell you if they have it registered and if you are lucky whether you are likely to receive a PS2 before Xmas
Good Luck
