Im a little concerned about the No. 9 Shirt at United. Weve not signed anyone as the fourth striker, after letting Dwight Yorke go.

Can we really risk going into the season with really only 2 recognise strikers and Diego Forlan who is still young and really is for the Future, and needs to improve as the seasons will roll on.

The only othr thing I can think of is that Giggs will be used as the Fourth striker, but although he is a superb player his goal accuracy isnt always the greatest.

Dont get me wrong, Van + Ole are world class, but im just worried if one or both(!) of them get injured or tired even, whose good enough to replace them from our other strikers(?)

am I being to cautious or do you agree?

Yeh that will be a good game, but I doubt Utd will use a very strong team hence the qualifier coming up. Ive not seen the likes of David May Involved in Pre season so far and various squad players like P.Neville, Djordic, Stewart, Kieron Richardson will get a run out.

Ah, Nuno Gomes has signed for Benfica :(

Ronaldo and Van Man up front...Sweet...

Could someone tell me when Forlan is gonna come good? As in hit the back of the net? Today he had a golden opportunity to score but the luck or whatever just aint on his side...

Anyhoo. I'm off to Old trafford next saturday to watch Boca Juniors vs somesort of Man Utd XI.

Anyone any ideas what sort of team Utd will use? TO be honest i'm going to the game more the catch Boca juniors really. First time they have come to England apparently! To see that the great club which has held players such as Maradona, Riquelme, Batistuta and Veron in thier grasps...And all the proceeds from tickets are going to charity so i'm doing a good deed :)

We would be the ultimate team with Ronaldo, but I read today on various websites that to buy big he will need to sell someone but if the right person comes along he would consider selling someone, well I hope its not Seba because he's havingan amazing pre-season, I think he settled more now and hopefully see some of his magic this season. He continued by saying that if anyone is signed before the 31st of Aug it wont be a big signing by any means. In a way I was hoping that Nuno Gomes may sign because he was on a free and it would have meant only his wages to sort, I think he's a class player, but who else can they sign if they are not prepared to break the bank, I would assume Di Canio but Ferguson seems adement that he doesnt want Di Canio now, so who will it be?

I certainly think we need a 4th Striker.

A few days ago in the papers. They was on about signing Di Canio as West Ham know he can go for nothing at the end of next season. Names also mentioned was the likes off Duff, Gudjohnsen, Lopez, Crespo.

Excluding Di Canio, i think any of the other 3 would be perfect.

Doesn't matter who Utd buy, they won't be winning anything again this season.

That reminds me, better go put a bet on.....

Riquelme was brilliant yestreday and will now get a chance to start matches seeing as Rivaldo has left the club. Mendieta also showed signs of being back to his best after a bad year at Lazio, not to sure about him playing on the left though as he would play better in the middle of the park.

I found a flaw in Ryan Giggs yesterday, twice Veron dummied or layed it off to the left where anyother left winger would have been to have a shot on goal. Yet Giggs was either in the centre of the area or nowhere to be seen resulting in Veron looking like an idiot passing into space.
