"'Dark' Aeons"

Does anyone have any tips on how to defeat the 'Dark' Aeons - they are rock hard! One of them (Anima) has a whopping 8 million HP....Does anyone have tips to beat any of them?

i'm going through the game the second time...and even though i know all the twists i actually enjoy it more...cos you notice quite a few more things the second time through (in the main story). and this time i'm gonna whip those dark aeons' a*ses :D cos i chickened out the first time

Thankyou, i was there pressing everything thinking why won't you go up or down or what ever your suppose to do! and now i know it was getting annoying

A few questions:

What or who is Yojimbo?

What is the Anima?

What are these Celestial Weapons?

I`ve beaten a few of them, though I must admit that the only way I can do it is with the help of Yojimbo - I really haven`t played long enough to take them on properly.

I recently bought a guide in preparation for my second go through the game. I decided to cheat a little though (I knew I would) and take a look at the dark aeons (after all, it was quite a shock when I bumped into Dark Shiva by accident!). Oh dear...

Dark Yojimbo x5 ????!!!!????

With my luck I can barely beat him the once! I found out that Yojimbo takes a disliking to you if you give a poor answer to his question when you first meet, he also dislikes being paid 0 gil, and finally hates being bartered with for hours on end - all of which I did :D This has left me with a Yojimbo who really can`t be bothered to do any more than Wakizashi most of the time. Ah well, next time!

Anyway, I`ve beaten Yojimbo twice, but you have to do it 5 times in a row, so I probably won`t do that this time through the game. Other things that will have to wait are:

Anima - I can`t get back in to all those temples, so I can`t get the items.
Celestial Weapons - How was I supposed to know about mirrors and all that rubbish?!? There must be some clues somewhere I guess, but I missed them, and despite the guide telling me how to do it, I will leave it until next time through.

First Strike, lots of gil and Zanmato. God bless Yojimbo :D

I posted a walktrough of how to defeat these aeons. I just hope SR put it up while i was away.

Just bought strategy guide - when you defeat all 8 Dark Aeons you must fight Penance, the most immensely hard boss ever. Or something. A similarly difficult boss is Nemesis, who you fight at the monster arena after catching 10 of every single monster...

A frightening prospect.....

You need to push it to the edge and then go in a clock wise fashion round the edge as many times as you can, the more times round the more spells she casts.

When you get the airship right near the end you can go back and visit the temples were you can fight the dark aeons. There are also some Dark Aeons at other places.

Airship? suppose ill find out when i get there, im on the bit just past Thunder Plains, i just got Rikku and im in the icey place were the lake stays frozen all the time im fighting the Machina with 'Mana Beam' is there any special way of beating it? im building my characters up and im going to go in with all overdrives up even on the Aeons.

Oh and thats another thing you know Lulu's OverDrive when you choose a Magic to do on everyone how do you get her bar to 'Great'? nothing seems to move it
