And, indeed, the whole multiplayer expirience was a first today.

You see, none of my friends are bothered about Xbox, apart from one who wants an Xbox, but doesn't like Halo so won't play it. Which is, as I'm sure you know, fustrating. But they all seem to stick to the idea that "Xbox is crap, and the controller is too big".

So it sure was nice to get broadband, and download XBconnect along with Gamespy Tunnel. Although I was very fustrated to find it didn't work. So I fiddled around with my router for a while (funny, how the instructions never work...) and managed to get it to forward port 8602. However, before starting XBconnect up again, I decided to install Gamespy tunnel first. All I can say is, damn program!

For suspicious reasons, after installing Gamespy tunnel (and finding it to be very crap) two DLLs were missing from XBconnect, meaning, at first, it wouldn't find my Xbox, leading to the program not running at all. Hmm...two competitors, after installing the second, the first won't work. Strange that.

So, I had to uninstall Gamespy, and XBconnect. And reinstall XBconnect. More time wasting that I didn't particulally want to do. Sure enough, it now worked. I don't think I'll install gamespy again.

Now, it was time to play Halo online. I hadn't got a clue what I was supposed to do. I'll work that out in time. So I warned the other people through chat that I was new, and persisted to run around just shooting at anything I saw moving. As long as we weren't playing capture the flag...

I got killed once, and killed one person , before someone's computer messed up and stopped our whole game. Twice. I gave up, and will go back on tommorow, when I'm less tired.

So a nice bug free day of Halo online playing then. But, despite what I've said, it *was* worth it.

How about we try and set up a SR game one day? How many people here have the equipment to play online?

Ahh. That should be good.

So we can either have one more person, or just have the three. Then we'll just have to set up a time when we're all available. I should be able to come on any time, seeing as I'm on school holidays. Apart from not this sunday, but next sunday when I'll be going on holiday for a week.

Anyway, we'll be able to sort something.

Oh and I had a ping of 60 on the last match I played. Haven't got a clue whether that's good or bad, as I never played online games on 56K and this was my first online broadband game.

It didn't jerk at all for me though. Just like playing one player, but against other people. I was surprised at how good it is.

I've got the stuff to play Halo online. I find that there are not enough PAL games on either program, and if there is a PAL game you can't join it. I was having a good game of 4 player Blood Gulch, when someones machine was playing up. They then thought I had a bad ping and kicked me off. It would be great to get maybe 3 or 4 people from here to play some online games, as then we could just arrange them on here and see who turns up to play the games.
