And, indeed, the whole multiplayer expirience was a first today.

You see, none of my friends are bothered about Xbox, apart from one who wants an Xbox, but doesn't like Halo so won't play it. Which is, as I'm sure you know, fustrating. But they all seem to stick to the idea that "Xbox is crap, and the controller is too big".

So it sure was nice to get broadband, and download XBconnect along with Gamespy Tunnel. Although I was very fustrated to find it didn't work. So I fiddled around with my router for a while (funny, how the instructions never work...) and managed to get it to forward port 8602. However, before starting XBconnect up again, I decided to install Gamespy tunnel first. All I can say is, damn program!

For suspicious reasons, after installing Gamespy tunnel (and finding it to be very crap) two DLLs were missing from XBconnect, meaning, at first, it wouldn't find my Xbox, leading to the program not running at all. Hmm...two competitors, after installing the second, the first won't work. Strange that.

So, I had to uninstall Gamespy, and XBconnect. And reinstall XBconnect. More time wasting that I didn't particulally want to do. Sure enough, it now worked. I don't think I'll install gamespy again.

Now, it was time to play Halo online. I hadn't got a clue what I was supposed to do. I'll work that out in time. So I warned the other people through chat that I was new, and persisted to run around just shooting at anything I saw moving. As long as we weren't playing capture the flag...

I got killed once, and killed one person , before someone's computer messed up and stopped our whole game. Twice. I gave up, and will go back on tommorow, when I'm less tired.

So a nice bug free day of Halo online playing then. But, despite what I've said, it *was* worth it.

How about we try and set up a SR game one day? How many people here have the equipment to play online?

It's the Xbox default name. If I had DOA3, and got the high score, I could change it.

But I don't want DOA3...

Don't know really. Like I said, I found mine in a carboot sale. I actually got it about 5 months ago, but I knew I would be getting broadband soon, so I would want to play Halo online. And I couldn't leave this thing for £4. So I decided to take a risk and see if it worked.

I then got my dad to get all the cables needed from his work (they deal with servers, so they tonnes of the stuff). Which means I got mine set up for quite cheap.

It's always worth having a look on eBay. I never really use it, so I don't know if it's the type of thing they'd sell. If not, just keep a look out for a cheap one elsewhere.

I really should remember what I was going to post, so I can post it all at once...

I'll be leaving it up for 30 mins, by which time I'll know if anyone with online capablilites saw this message.

No one will probably join, but it's worth it while I'm here.
