Hats off to Sony unlike MS and Ninty they are there to make gaming affordable unlike the others who are only interested in profit.

Sony scored a big hit with the PS1 and platinum games, which were affordable quality games that had to sell a certain amount to turn platinum, while N64 was still trying to sell cartridges for £64.99 Sony's platinum range came in at £19.99 and proved a big hit.

I am glad to see they are carryiing on the tradition with there PS2 platinum range. I mean lets face it GT3 is a far superior game to Project Gotham and yet it is have the price. They say you have to pay for quality but on this evidence you don't.

SolidSnake may be funny, but at least he isn't just plain ignorant:

Star Wars: Rogue Leader £38.99 quoted from Special Reserve, the very forums you are sitting on you dopey git.

Pikmin £35.99 again quoted from SR.

In fact there isn't a single GC title over £39 if you bother to look.

Extreme G3 is actually priced at £35 on GC and £28 on PS2, the higher price being justified on GC because it's new on the platform. Do you even look at the prices, or do you just make them up to suit your argument?

Yes, as there will be GC games once it has been out for 2 years. I've never known anyone to be so completely stupid. Just go away before you embarrass yourself any more.

I'm sorry. I just looked in my SR catalogue. It quite clearly says that Star Wars is £38.99 and Pikmin is £35.99. Get your facts right before you post.

Fan? No no no... Fanboy, or even better fandan!

2nd hand resale shops? Cheap PS2 games? Both of those in the same sentence? Could that mean that people think that the games are coy carp and so sell them? Ho ho... It seems to be the format of choice for getting rid of...

Do us all a favour...

What the hell are you raving on about?!? Lemmings rip-off! Where the hell did that stupid, pointless and incorrect statement come from? Oh, and I think if you look around shops, you'll see that GC titles are actually mostly £37.99 or £39.99, and not £44.99. You have a serious habit of talking out of your backside!

Extreme G-3 is only £20 more expensive on the GC than the PS2 because the PS2 has been out for 2 years longer, and XG3 has been out since launch nearly for PS2. GC will have it's own version of 'The Platinum Range' and it will have games for £19.99 as well. Trust me.

That's because the GC hasn't been out as long as the PS2 you fool! Once the GC has been out for 2 years you will be able to walk into any games shop and buy 2nd hand GC games for £10. You're just bewing an insolent fandoby that refuses to admit PS2 is only doing better because it's been out longer.

Extreme G3 is money for old rope - regardless of which console you have. Keep well clear of it!

Have noticed how most websites sell GC games for no more than £39.99 (simplygames does 2 at £29.99) and the only games I've seen at £44.99 are, well, I've not seen 1 game at £44.99 for GC, not even in high street shops.

You a funny guy, I think you will find that the PS2 is £199 and that top titles on GC are £44.99 the only one being Star Wars, unless you rate the lemmings rip-off Pikimen.

Being a gaming fan I do like to buy quite a few games and most of the PS2 titles I have pick up are on special offers like buy one get 2nd half price, or buy 2 and get 3rd free and these are top titles. Then again I could always buy Extreme G3 for GC at £39.99 or on PS2 platinum for £19.99.

Go into second hand resale shops and there are cheap PS2 games all over the place it is the format of choice and there ain't nothing you can do about it.

I got a new DVD player last week. It was new. Had been out for less than a month. Guess how much? £110.

It's good quality too.
