In its defence - I think the DVD player is perfectly acceptable. It compares favorably to my high-end dedicated player.

My crystal ball must be broken, because I'm sure the future cannot be seen, merely speculated about.
In my vision of the future, the world is controlled by a single giant computer, which tries to wipe out humanity by sending an army of killer robots after us, thereby rendering games consoles obsolete. Maybe I should make a film about it.

Firstly: it's been out longer, and so a larger games library is quite obvious, once the other 2 consoles have been out for 2 years, I would stagger a guess that they will also boast impressive game lineups. Fool.
And DVD capacity, heh, the DVD player on the PS2 is crap, I know of no-one who uses it as their standard DVD player.

lack of quality titles? a stunning percentage of the games available for GC fall in the category I would label "quality titles", and with dozens more of the same standard coming our way, you can certainly expect a decent "games library" sufficient enough to turn heads within a few months time.

Who cares if there isn't a GC2? Who cares if there isn't a PS3 or an XBOX2? Who cares? At the end of the day, the console market is changing, and although there may be next generation consoles like a PS3, the generation following that will be produced by the likes of IBM, HP and apple, because the market is moving towards more PC style application.
The future of Sony in the console industry is safe enough for now, but look ahead, and life paints you a very different picture.

Yes because it has the best library of games and dvd capability, but I have also got a GC which I am impressed with in terms of graphics like the meteor field in Star Wars, and the handset at first seemed a bit weird, but now feels very comfortable. I just worry with the slow sales and lack of quality titles, that comments like "This could be Nintendo's last console" might not be so far fetch and it does not instill confidence in someone who is planning or bought one that there might not be GC2 especially in the light of Dreamcast demise.

I didn't say it was uninteresting. Besides, this topic has been raised many times before so it is starting to get annoying. By the way, what console do you like the best? From what I have seen so far, I would hazard a guess at the Playstation 2.

I can't really speak for SD, but I believe it was to settle this before it got worse.

If this subject was so uninteresting why are you even taking the time to reply too it.
