I was just interested if any of you lot are gettin jobs other the summer holidays...
all those grandads who have left school don't count. All of the items on my summer shoppin list are very expensive, so I'm gonna be workin my butt off this summer. I've managed to blag a job at Bisley Rifle Club (where they be doin the commonwealth games) that pays £40 a day...that means around £100 a week if I work a bit...YES!

Any of you got jobs then?

Cheers Tetchy. I agree :D

Seriously, I can just ring up on Wednesdays for weekend work or Sundays for Weekday work. It's £20 8:30-12:30, and £20 for 13:30-17:30. So my new bike frame is but 8 'slots' away...

I've got a summer job.

Unfortunately it also drags on into the autumn, winter and spring, too. :-(

I did my first week at Top Man, and on the second day they threatened to "fire" me. Back then, I just said OK, then carried on not working. If it happened now, I'd tell them where to go and walk out. In fact, if I could go back I wouldn't bother showing up at all, it was awful. The staff were really hard on us, making us do stuff while they just sat and watched.

Anyway, after 5 days I refused to go back, so I went to the DSS and the hours were shorter (not 9 to 5 like Top Man) the work was easier, the people were friendlier, it was closer to home and basically, it was better. And I can claim work experience in an office environment thanks to it, which will come in handy

I did my work experience in an office.

My god, most boring week of my life...

Just doing bloody filing all week. I turned half an hour late on one day and they said they would have sacked me had the job been for real (like i gave a toss!)

I have vowed to myself to never work in a office.

It was full of Arsenal supporters which made it even worse...(this was after they had just won the double in 98)

After doing work experience at Top Man some two/three years ago, I vowed I would never work in a clothes shop, supermarket, or office. Well, since I'm trying for a job at the DSS, I'll soon have broken one of my rules, but still, I'll never work in a supermarket or clothes shop. It's mind numbingly boring. At least in an office, you have people to talk to while you work and all you have to do is type. Easy

Oh! You poor thing! Don't worry, I'm sure lot's of people go through such a low phase in their lives, it's perfectly normal to lose the will to live a real life!

Seriously though... you work at Morrisons.... and have been doing so for nearly 3 years.... Are you insane?
