Anyway, I delete every virus that slips past my junk mail thingy. It's always obvious what they actually are

But how does this thing work?

From what I've read, I'm not actually infected.

You usually have to OPEN an e-mail to trigger the virus.

I read a message about the virus here before I received my first e-mail, so I haven't opened the two I've received so far. Hence the e-mail's people have received from 'me' can't possibly be from me, and must be from others who have me in their contact list - assuming what AJ says is true about the contact lists.

It must be propagating around Hotmail like wildfire. I know my computer isn't infected, because I have McAfee anti-virus software running constantly, and it is updated almost every day. So anything that does come from my 'me' must be internal to the Hotmail system.

Yeah I get you. Most have been complicated to make. I dont see why people start viruses it's just pointless and gay.

No, because it doesn't seem to work like your thinking. It doesn't go out to your contacts. It goes out to your contacts contacts. If I was on your list, the virus'd pass through me and go to, say Wookiee, even though he'd not be on your contact list. See?

It's very hard to explain.

Nope, as long as you don't touch the attachment nothing can be done to your machine. It's only if you open it, the virus gets unleashed on you. :-)

That's okay then, thanks. it's just I had a virus thing before for a while and it really messed things up for a few months. Glad i dont have to go throught all that again. Last time I got one from leaving a disk in floopy disk drive. The disk had work on from school, and I left it in the drive, then when I switched the computer on it booted up with something on the disk.

So anyone else been emailed by 'me'?

No, because you wouldn't have a PC if you did get the virus... it would have lost everything.
