The console contest is only between two consoles and these are the two consoles:
1 The X-box soon to go on line with the great graphics and designs it has also made a great amount of money,
2 Now the Ps2 is also soon to go on line and its long black box the first console to have a built in DVD player and the games with un-realistic graphics is the other console to be in the contest to be the best console on earth.

Which console would you recommend to your fellow mates and partners and the reason's needed, Cheers and lets see which is the popular console.

5.1 is sweet, once you've tried it everything else sounds cack.

My friend has a 32 inch telly with 5.1 set up and I always bring my Xbox round to his house. The sound quality is superb and well worth getting.
If you turn the bass up loud the ground in his house starts to shake, his sister said she could hear us playing Halo half way up the street. :P

Having a 5.1 system in your bedroom would be so cool but having said that RE would be cool aswell

sorry, Dolby 5.1 Surround sound system, I should have put that! Its a surround sound system that consists of 5 speakers and an Amplifier which will connect to my TV and Xbox/DVD player so that it will extened my TV speakers into a set of 8 speakers (including the AMP), 2 ordinary-good TV speakers + 5 Dolby 5.1 surround speakers. As most Xbox games enable 5.1 playback I can use it for them as well as my big DVD collection, on the Training Day DVD birds fly between speakers, bullets drop in different speakers and it gives you the impression that you are actually in the film. With games ever growing into movies I want to extend my expereince and utilise the Xbox's 256 sound channel's and take full advantage of the Hard-Ware that is available to me otherwise it would be a waste getting such a powerful console as the Xbox and not maximising its capabilities.

I am going to get a Dolby 5.1 system for my birthday (discussed with Tom and I am currently looking for a system) but I am also getting WWF: Raw Is War for the Xbox so I don't think I will have enough money left over to buy a GameCube with. If I have enough money then I will definatley get a GameCube, but with the games that are due out on the Xbox between September-Decemeber I think I wil focus on increasing my Xbox collection and get the games which I really want.

But look at the Xbox's alternative to GTA, True Crime: Streets of LA looks amazing so far and it looks like it could be the game to take GTA3 and turn it into a game that could possibly be better. I sold my PS2 becuase I wanted to get out of it before I loaded up my collection with yet another set of poor games, I turned to the Xbox and so far haven't regreted doing so. I am currently deciding whether or not to get a GameCube just to play the Resident Evil's, it is either that or a 5.1 system for my bedroom, at the moment I am going with the 5.1 system as I think it may be a waste of £120 just to play 1 game, I would get Perfect Dark: Zero and maybe 1 other game but that is as far as it goes, the 5.1 system however would be great for Xbox games and my big DVD collection. Unless Nintendo can convince me that there will be more mature games appearing on the console then I will not be buying one.

The Xbox is a shooting/action/adventure heaven and they are my favourite genres, it would be silly to buy a GameCube as they are the opposite to what I like, having said that I am a massive Resident Evil fan and I have completed 2+3+Gun Survivor+Code Veronica, the only one mising is the first and by the looks of the Screen Shots and reviews I have read it looks like a game that is worth picking up a GameCube alone just to play, I will have to wait and see.

It still praised the GameCube though, didn't it? Also, what's to come on PS2? Splinter Cell? Out on X-Box and GameCube and will probably be much better. GTA: Vice City? Talks of being out on X-Box in a much improved form. With the X-Box's power, and Nintendo's innovation, the only thing holding PS2 up is, ironically, it's age.

Yeah i also beleive the PS2 is getting old, In an XBOX magazine talking about E3, they said that the Xbox's and Gamecube stands were showing the most promising games, whereas the PS2 only displayed a small selection of software showing the PS2's hardware is struggling to keep up with the next-gen console.

That was from an Xbox magazine by the way so it has a bit of xbox bias.

Well, I wouldn't say the PS2 was the worst console out there, but I wouldn't say it was the best either. The GameCube and X-Box have very promising futures, but the PS2 looks exhausted and is showing signs of age. There are much more that three excellent games on it, but I'll grant you that for every half decent one, there's at least another terrible one.

LOL, with all those brilliant games out... GTA3 ah yes, the sole reason I got a PS2 was to play GTA3 but other than that I only found 2 other games that were good (MGS2 and GT3) after that the ratio for bad games to good games was about 100:1, granted the PS2 has a much broader range of games on the market, but when it comes to quality over quantity take a look at the Xbox and GameCube.

Lets face it, the PS2 had a poor launch and I found that it never took off biiger than that (bar GTA3 and MGS2), I own a Dreamcast and own Shenmue, Shenmue 2, UFC and Virtua Tennis and after owning it for 3 weeks I can safely say that I have enjoyed playing them more than I did playing any PS2 game (Shenmue's 1+2 are better than GTA3 in size, graphics and gameplay in my opinion) but as Sony do most of the time, rely on their name alone to carry them through, next time I won't fall for the trap of buying a PS3 I will wait for either the Xbox 2 or the next Nintendo console, I felt ripped off by Sony and I will never buy their console again!

Nice contadiction there Celts. You seemed to state clearly in the original post that the PS2 lost to the X-Box. You also did not once consider the GameCube.
