Just a quick newsflash - According to Codejunkies.com, SEGA have officially announced these games are what makes up the Sonic Mega Collection:

Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic The Hedgehog 3
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic 3D Blast
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Sonic Spinball

According to Codejunkies.com, the announcement by SEGA claims that each game is going to be exactly the same as the originals.

I for one am looking forward to this 'Sonic Allstars' disc, having never had a mega-drive...

Each to their own but I think Sega are relying a bit too much on releasing their old games and not making anything new.

It seems that you have to own an Xbox to get anything new and intresting from Sega.

Who actually bought a Gamecube to play Megadrive games?

I want to see Nights ported too, that way I'll actually see what it's about instead of seeing a few images and 3D objects in Sonic Adventure's casino stage...

I'm all for old titles being put on GameCube discs (in collections - not on their own). Even if Sonic Mega Collection is £40. Remember Sonic Advance was £35 brand new, and that is tony in comparison with just Sonic The Hedgehog on the megadrive! So an extra £5 doesn't seem that much to me when I'm getting just about every Sonic game that came out on the MegaDrive...

WHY can't the port NiGHTS!- the most original game of all time, yet only Saturn players had the chance of playing! It's certainly more original than jet set or Resz for that matter...

What about a sequel- there are sooo many improvements that are posible!

Exactly. Tiltawhirl whinges and whines about how SEGA are cashing in on their old titles, but as Edgy pointed out, Nintendo are the biggest culprits for this. And what about Namco with their "Namco Museum" titles that they seem to release on every console under the Sun, and which always have the same five or six games on them?

There's nothing wrong with re-hashing old titles, because some people might not have been lucky enough to play them first time round... and the Sonic titles are certainly worth re-releasing, as long as the price of the disc is around about £15-20 cheaper than the usual Gamecube game.

Having said that, the Sonic games should be ported to the GBA in my opinion, not Gamecube.

Almost as bad as Nintendo cashing in on the Mario Bros series with Super Mario Allstars-SNES, Super Mario Advance (Super Mario Bros 2)-GBA, Super Mario Advance 2 (Super Mario World)-GBA and even Super Mario Advance 3 (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)-GBA

Sonic 3d is on this stinky piece of retro crap. Sega really are cashing in their old title's, it's bad enough releasing crappy old Sonic Adventure but releasing a load of shoddy Megadrive games just takes the piece. They could at least have included a few Sonic Saturn games and maybe even that Mario Party rip off that came out for Dreamcast.

Come one Sega, enough of your old games we want to see something new other than Monkeys Balls and some crappy Sports games.

Hmm, no sonic racing.
Sonic racing for the saturn was so fun, and it had a catchy theme tune. But sonic R for the PC is crap, and dosent even have the cool theme tune!

And sonic does not suck, and its not a mario beater.
Sonic and Mario are two of my favourite games/characters whatever.
