There are many halls of fame. Baseball, basketball, hockey, computing & IT, rock & roll, bowling and even chess. So why not create one for computer games? Sure, there's the 'Game of the Year' award for the best looking game, and then there's the weekly and monthly top 10 charts for the best selling games. But, why not have a gaming hall of fame?

The gaming hall of fame would be somewhere to accommodate a collection of the most loved games, from accross all formats, voted for by gamers. Here, you can find interesting facts about the game and read about why gamers loved it so much. The games that would be in the gaming hall of fame wouldn't necessarily have to be recent games, either. Duck Hunt, Alex Kidd and even Pong would be strong contenders.

Voting could take place throughout every month, meaning there would be 12 games voted into the hall of fame each year. With the amount of games released in the past, and the amount of games released per year, we'd never run out of games to vote for.

We often hear people say "this is the best game ever" but, after a while, another game comes along and that becomes "the best game ever". So why not credit those games, and their developers, by entering them into the gaming hall of fame?

Sounds better than just putting threads up. They should make a whole new section of the website for it and could call it ukhalloffame.com or something along those lines... y'know just to keep it similar to ukreviews, ukchatforums etc. Just a suggestion.

If you counted all the games ever made by everyone you might be a hundredth of the way there.

The other hundredths would come from socks.

And then, ONLY then, would Spyro 2 rank. Or so everyone says.

And who am I to disagree with (coughs) "everyone"

Do you think that that many games exist?

I'd better put in my REAL hall of fame, as my previous doesn't seem to be acceptable to some

1 - The FF Series
2 - Zelda
3 - Mario!
4 - Super Monkey Ball
5 - Sonic

Somewhere is..

13 - Wipeout Fusion

And just to please you all

Tony Hawks 1
Original Pokemon (Meh heh)
FF7,8,9 and 10 (No RPG beats FF in my mind)
Doom
Wipeout 3
Sensible World Of Soccer
ISS Pro or Pro Evo

I think everyone would agree to Tetris being the main contender for the gaming hall of fame. The original Donkey Kong being a close second.

Games I reckon should go into the gaming hall of fame:

Secret of Mana
Perfect Dark
Cool Spot
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Super Smash Bros.
Crazy Taxi
Final Fantasy IX

There are more but there's a quick selection for now...
