Secondily IF IT is online is it possible to get any types of virus's on the net and console?
Thirdly what can the virus do to the console?
Virus's have been developed for the XBox, some really seriously harsh ones as well... including ones which stop things working... the XBox can go online if you know how to get it connected through a PC and then across onto a server.

Yeah, my mate told me about this. He was playing Halo online, through his PC, when the entire computer froze, his HD was erazed and all his data was gone. I mean, if that weren't bad enough, he rung up MS and they denied that this was possible and refused to help.

Of course you can, programming language is C++ and because the XBox has a harddrive it can be infected very easily.

That made no sense.

There will be many sites offering game downloads and other 'illegal' things, not that I promote this AT ALL, however many people will be tempted and virus's will fly around.

'chances'

You know nothing about Microsoft, they released Windows 98 with bugs in it so that Windows 2000 created a more friendly user interface and made the current 98 users buy it. Thats why Windows 95 still remains the most stable of the Windows OS's. Microsoft are dirty. More dirty than most other companies ever. Hence the CAMAM stopping them buying other companies in America.

Macintosh. I have many things against many companies, especially Eidos. Microsoft are arrogant idiots.

You can get viruses at the moment because you play through your PC.
Playing through the X-Box is different.
1) You cant get programming software for the x-box from places on the internet so nobody can make one on the x-box.
2) You cannot send specific things using the x-box.
3) The only stuff you download is from microsoft. Now MS arent going to stick virus in their own downloads. So...
As long as you dont play through your PC then the chances are you wont receive a virus.
Er-no: You obviously have something against MS for some odd reason. MS constantly update their software, for free, to help against bugs, problems and viruses.
There isnt a better computer related company than MS.

The smiley face won't help you muggins. I am trying to answer honestly by what I know from work. I am not in love with my GameCube. I have all three consoles and give each game I play an equal chance as well as the hardware I play it on. I only have Halo on my Xbox, I don't like any of the other games on the console and the ones I would buy I already own on my PS2.
You CAN and will be able to get virus's for the Xbox, Microsoft will not try and prevent it, merely say sorry and chat crap about how the Xbox2 will offer anti-virus hardware.
I think all downloads have to be approved my microsoft so i dont think you will be getting any viruses.

How do you even 'believe' Microsoft will begin to kill off these virus's? Thats the HUGE problem with having the harddrive within the console... its a virus magnet. Microsoft will probably release a AntiVirus which will cost 44.99 and will have updates which you also have to pay for.
