I'm not sure whether anyone will be interested but I'll give it a whirl. Just to liven the forum up a bit.

I'm going to start a World Championship on Grand Prix 4 and you have to pick a driver from the list below. I will give you the race results when I have them. Remember that all the cars and drivers will be equal so the race results will be completely random.

Jenson Button
Nick Heidfeld
Felipe Massa
Takumo Sato
Giancarlo Fisichella

Try and catch him on MSN.

I know he's not on too often, but you're on quite a bit, so you should probably see him sometime on there.

Mtt, this has been really cool. Sorry I haven't replied as much as I should've.

I have read every single race and I did check regularly to see if it had been updated.

Thanks a lot for this.

P.S Now you know how I feel :)

Panis steals the World Championship with one lap to go as Coulthard wins in Japan

Panis has won the World Championship by one point by finishing in 5th place. Frentzen had the championship in the bag but with one lap remaining he lost control and spun allowing Panis to steal 5th place and the championship.

Coulthard finally managed to convert his good qualifying positions and won the race. He didn't put a wheel wrong as everyone else was flying off the track in the wet and tricky conditions.

Yoong was the first to retire. He crashed out on lap 2. The resulting accident saw Michael Schumacher retire on the same lap. Irvine ended a dismal season on lap 14 when an oil leak caught fire. Montoya saw his chances of 3rd in the championship evaporate when he crashed on lap 20. Villeneuve crashed out on lap 28 when he looked liked getting the win he needed. De La Rosa crashed out on lap 34. Heidfeld retired with a water leak on lap 35. Massa was classified 15th but retired with a puncture on lap 46.

After a long hard season, Panis is the World Champion. Frentzen was so close and came second by only one point. Villeneuve was 3rd, Montoya 4th, Ralf Schumacher 5th and Sato finished 6th. BAR won the constructors title with Arrows 2nd and Williams 3rd.

The Japanese Grand Prix saw Coulthard win, McNish finished in second, Barrichello finished in 3rd. Raikkonen, Panis and Frentzen rounded out the top 6.

I sure hope that I can overtake Villeneuve and get some points to finish 3rd overall.

Be funny if Frentzen and Panis both have to retire and get no points.

Villeneuve is just where he needs to be in Japan

Jacques Villeneuve has taken pole position in a wash out of a session. Villeneuve managed to get out first on a damp track and set a time which no one could match and then the rain came meaning no chance of him being caught.

The conditions caught out a couple of drivers. Yoong was on his second run when he lost it at 130R and smashed into the barrier. He managed to get out again but couldn't improve on his first run. Montoya stopped out on track on his second run and he couldn't improve on his first run.

The championship battle has reached the final round and Villeneuve is in prime position to do what he must do. He won't be happy to see Frentzen in 6th on the grid and Panis is still in with a shout in 9th place.

Full qualifying results:

1st Villeneuve (James Pond) 1m41.601s
2nd McNish (Dr. Pepper - oni) 1m41.823s
3rd De La Rosa (Grandprix) 1m41.841s
4th Coulthard (Quinty) 1m41.913s
5th Montoya (Foreman) 1m42.054s
6th Frentzen (KR) 1m42.258s
7th Yoong (No.2) 1m42.431s
8th Webber (Ant) 1m42.728s
9th Panis (Your Honour) 1m43.518s
10th Fisichella (MikeAll) 1m43.679s
11th R Schumacher (Badgerman) 1m43.826s
12th Trulli (Triple H) 1m43.925s
13th Salo (PS2 Proud) 1m43.946s
14th Irvine (DW) 1m43.993s
15th Massa (Ortega) 1m44.089s
16th M Schumacher (Mr. Ritze) 1m44.091s
17th Bernoldi (Afrojoe) 1m44.174s
18th Barrichello (Reddy 2002) 1m44.190s
19th Raikkonen (Figo) 1m44.240s
20th Heidfeld (Daxter) 1m44.389s
21st Sato (Bizarre Cabbage) 1m44.443s
22nd Button (Jetster) 1m44.575s

So, 16 races down and it comes down to this. Who will win the World Championship?
