i am a wwf fan - have been for years but what must be said that wwf games are not up to scratch.very repetetive and way too easy. I think that there needs to be proper interactive scenery/weapons i.e. climb up a ladder and do a move, set up a table and place opponents on them etc. and where's all the tag team moves no double team moves. proper storylines and face and heel (good guy/bad guy)scenario's to take place with differing crowd reactions. i hope that smackdown 2 goes some way to helping me enjoy a game of something i am interested in like fifa 2000 did for football games.
p.s. the previous guy hit the nail on the head - we need some FUN

I don't think the game will disappoint, after all Wrestlemania 2000 was amazing compared to WCW Revenge and it had alot more game time than Attitude. I still sometimes play on Wrestlemania and I have had it since its first day of release.

I also heard the CAW will be much more enhanced than any other WWF Game ever. You can now adjust the Leg Size, Chest Size and all stuff like Eye Colour and Nose type. I cany wait to do the Ladder Match in both games but i am more looking forward to the Casket Match in Smackdown 2. I think the People's Elbow was unrealistic in Smackdown and i hope they can change it so the opponent doesn't automatically more to yhe center of the ring.

I also will be getting both No Mercy and Smackdown 2. I think both games will be excellent. Smackdown 2 will have more of a story line season mode to it, forming aliances and making foes was a major part of Smackdown 1, and it will be the same if not better in the sequel. On the other hand No Mercy looks absolutely superb. The graphics seem to have lost there 'cartoon' look and realism seems to have set in. Also the arenas do look better on the N64, but its not how it looks its how it plays and both previous titles WM2K and Smackdown 1 played perfectly fine. It will be interesting to see how brawling backstage compares on the N64 as its a first for a WWF title, but from what I have seen it doesnt appear to have any problem at all. I suppose it boils down to how many different modes there will be in each game. With Smackdown's season mode, it can last you ages before you get tired of playing it, with different plots forming all the time. No Mercy may not be able to compete in comparison with the season mode, but it has unlimited appeal, such as the ammount of wrestlers on offer, create a wrestler, create a pay-per view, battle royals and of course Game Boy Transfer pak compatibility. Im not sure what modes will be in Smackdown 2 yet although it will have Casket matches and Hell in a Cell.
Hmmmm its difficult to say, but both games have been updated and improved over the last lot of WWF titles, and they were great. If I had to choose I would go for Smackdown 2 purely because of the storylines involved. No Mercy prove me wrong!!!

I think No Mercy will be more realistic but on the other hand smackdown 1 was a lot more enjoyable than WM2k. I'm getting both but which do you feel will be better?

Nothing has been finalised yet, but expect the usual wrestlers that appeared in Wrestlemania 2000 (The Rock, Triple H, Undertaker, Stone Cold, etc..). The new characters I know of are:-
Kurt Angle
Rikishi
Chris Benoit
Latino Heat (Eddie Guerrero with Chyna)
Perry Saturn (with Terri)
The Dudly Boyz
Tazz
Essa Rios
Dean Malenko
Crash Holly
Bull Buchanon
The (Lovely) Kat
Lita
Trish Stratus
Mae Young
Lilian Garcia (The Raw ring announcer)

Im not sure how many different match modes there will be but expect to have:-
One on One Match
Triple Threat Match
Tag Team Match
Cage Match
Hardcore Match
Royal Rumble
Ladder Match
Special Referee Mode
Create a Pay-Per View
Survival Mode

I hope this helps.

I have just learned about the brawling backstage in No Mercy. Bouts start obviously in the ring but you can then move to the top of the arena entrance ramp. From there you throw you enemy out into the corridor where you have a choice of four available doors. Its all laid out in a proper map basis so you dont go backstage and just appear anywhere at random, you actually know where you are going. The bottom right door leads to the boiler room, the bottom left door leads to the dressing room/locker room. The top right door leads to the bar lounge and the top left door leads to the docking bay. There will be different weapons available for the specific area. The boiler room has sledge hammers and large spanners, The dressing room has chairs and you can use the tables to jump off or slam you opponants head into. The bar lounge has snooker cues, bottles and stools, and you can use the pool table to climb on. The docking bay has parked cars to fight on, boxes, trollies and signs to use as weapons, and you can enter the back of a parked truck and use that as a fighting area. THQ have promised that there will be more weapons but remain tight lipped about it. The areas that have been announced range differently to make each one seem accurate, for example the boiler room has a tight claustrophobic feel to it, where compared to the large open space of the docking bay you have more room to move and more time to think of an attack. This game is destined to better Wrestlemania 2000 and from what I have seen of it so far it already does.
I will post more news soon.
