This sounds good - However, I loved the all out war that existed between the Humans and Orcs in the second game, and all the story and traditional RTS fare, becasue it worked so well - Is this game similar, or much different? It has four races, does it not?

While we are on the subject of Stratagy games IB, have you ever tried the game called 'Sudden Strike'? It's a WW2 RTS, and a bloody hard one at that, but it does put up a good challenge.

It will most likely be a game I eventually own, but as I've said, there's allot of other games I'm looking at first.

I convinced myself it was worth buying a long time ago when I was playing the BETA...

The only difference seems to be it's less buggy. I'll get started on the single player game over the weekend, and I'll be writing a review of it for SR.

Basically, if you don't own this game, you're not an RTS fan.

Now that's got to be a pain. I know what it feels like when you have a game you really want to play, but can't for a few short hours, which begin to feel like a few very long hours. Anyway, tell us how the game plays, I haven't convinced myself to buy it yet, too many other games I want first.

WarCraft III arrived in the post this morning. However, the experience of it arriving was about as satisfying as a £10 lapdance. I'm stuck at work now til 5:30, and won't get home til about 6:30.

How the hell am I supposed to get through the day when I can only think about one thing?

The game still requires a lot of patience, and the combat hasn't changed much, but I always enjoyed the combat system, so I'm not too fussed.

The only thing I'm upset about is the hero upgrade system has been dummied down a bit.

Is it worth buying?

I liked the main strategy bits, with all the 'nodes' and lovely graphics and little armies etc, but the battles could be a little under-whelming really. It was quite hard too!

Got Age of Wonders 2 now, and I've been playing it all weekend!

It's just a fantastic game.
