Well me and my brother went to the computer shop where we are regulars on saturday and put an order in for a GeForce 4 Ti 4600. It should arrive at the store tommorow, so we are taking the computer in to get it "seen to". I cant wait to see the difference in power (we have a 16mb card the now).

Praise the lord!!

I've heard you need a really good processor to get a really good graphics card, and if this is true, oh cr**! I only have an Athlon 600, good at the time, but not any more. Can anyone fill me in on this?

Best would be the Ti4600, but there's a special offer on at a certin other online retailer - Ti4200 64mb for £115, which isn't bad, or the 128mb version for £170 (Gainward Golden Sample). Ti4600 is looking at £200 upwards really, I'd recommend the Ti4200 for a mid point price/performance, of possibly one of the GF3s if you can pick it up a bit cheaper second hand.

I know sod all about Radeons really, but I'm sure there must be someone on SR who hates "nVidiots" and will tell you anything good about them...Always bought nVidia myself, excellent performance, well priced, good drivers and compatibility.

So what is the best money value graphics card around at the moment? I've got 384 MB of RAM, which is OK, but my graphics card sucks a**. Any recommendations, anyone?

Aww nuts, my new geforce 4 is causing me some problems. The comp now starts up in 256 colours, instead of true colour, i tried changing this in the winportrit options, but it keeps causing an error Wpctrl95 in NVMODE.DLL. This is not so good.

And £90 for 512MB sounds promising.
