Which is exactly what happened to me with FF7, damn good game I won't deny it but I couldn't be bothered no more, I may load it up one day again though so I can finally finish it.
I like long interesting games, Zelda OOT was almost perfect in that sense.
The fact is, a game has to end somewhere, and if it's too long, you're gonna get bored of it.

I agree some of Nintendo's games are a little short, Pikmin and Luigi's mansion to name some, but Nintendo only released those to get people to buy the consoles. Once there are enough GameCube owners, which is around now, the bigger games start appearing.
I wont be getting FF on GameCube or Game Boy Advance, I'm just not interested. I'm not disputing the fact that the FF series is good. It's just not my cup of tea, neither is Tweenies on the PSX or Mary-Kate and Ashley on the Game Boy.

Not a chance. Zelda on the GC won't be as good as Ocarina of Time. Majora's Mask had no Zelda or Ganon and it sucked. Zelda GC has no Zelda or Ganon, and although it won't suck, I bet it doesn't feel like a true Zelda game.
And Starfox won;t have the same epic-ness as Ocarina of Time.
The update of Ocarina of Time though. That will be brilliant. I haven't completed Ocarina of Time on the N64 in ages so it should feel pretty new.

yeah i know there are a lot of ps2 fanboys. Remember the 'GTA3 is the best game ever' posts. Now its 'FFX is the best game ever' and once another game comes out, probably GTA: Vice City, people will start talking about that.
I dont think a game can be too long. Length is what draws people back to a game. You cant have a brilliant game thats totally awesome but only lasts 15 minutes. In the gaming world size matters.

Oh come on! That's just an argument you use when you know you're beaten and can't argue with actual bad points to the game. The longer the better.
And Tilt, how you can call FFX mediocre and then say Resi will be good is just plain wrong! If ever there has been a game with extremely average gameplay that is seen to be great it is Resi! It's just tense and has good graphics. Slow, clumsy, crap. Well, my opinion anyway.
