I read this and thought "what the hell is that crazy fool on about, few weeks away. I then realised that we're in November, and half a year has passed without me really noticing. Funny how that happens as you get older.

I take it you didn't fill out the life pledge that came with the Playstation then? You know it was that card with the fluffy pink trim.

More morons own Playstations than N64's, it's true, just like more people own Playstations than N64's

Shot himself in the foot a bit there didn't he.

This is what the forum should be about, take note people.

Now that's not fair. I can't afford to buy anything. How about you buy all of the other consoles for me?

Internet connection is not a necessity. Modems are generally too slow, which is why I don't even play on-line games on my PC. That said, while Sony are waiting for broadband, they are considering a stop-gap official USB modem. Third-party developers have also announced modems. Oh, and next year... is only weeks away.

Indeed, PS2 doesn't have DD5.1 - it has DTS, which is superior. See http://www.dtsonline.com/consumer/faq.html

True, as the PC is always upgradable. But both DC and PS2 can match *current* PC's pretty well, and they're more stable. A PC graphics card capable of *at least* the effects available on DC and PS2 will cost you about £200, and that's without the rest of the hardware to plug it into.

What utter crap. Most people have bought PS because it has the majority of games they want to play. Sony got their marketing right by aiming at a generally older age group than Sega and Nintendo had previously done. It paid off, and I don't see why that should be held against them.

Again you seem to think all PS owners are morons - why is that? The only reason that PS has so many crap games (yes, it is true - there are many) is that there are so many more titles available than for other consoles. The PC has an even larger amount of crap. It's all relative.

By your previous comments, would we be right in assuming that your son's uncle is also a Sony-loving moron, then? Thought not.

Sony haven't excessively hyped PS1 or PS2. They don't have to, because the machines more or less sell themselves. All they've done is advertise their product, just like everyone else. They didn't hold knives to anyone's throats.
So am I biased towards Sony? You may think so; I don't. I have a preference, which I choose to defend against falsehoods, lies, and innacurate information posted on these forums. I also manage to do it without insisting that another platform is "crap" simply because I chose not to buy one.
If you were to read my posts on the PS2 forum, you'd see that I've even attempted to stop pro-PS2 people from posting similar childish, immature "mine's better than yours" crap about Dreamcast. I'm sure, if they're honest, even the regular Dreamcast owners/fans on these forums will back me up on that.
Farras was just stating his/her opinion for discussion; he/she made no comment - negative or otherwise - about any other console. Yet you instantly feel the need to start slaggnig the PS1/PS2 and its users, and defending the Dreamcast. Why is that?
If you're happy with your Dreamcast, what are you worried about? Why does it make a damn bit of difference to you what choice others make? You've made your choice with Dreamcast; I have no problem with that. I wish you many happy hours of gaming on it.
There seem to be a large number of people - on all sides - that simply are either too stupid or too narrow-minded to accept that other people make different choices to them. Please don't add to the numbers.
Yes, these are discussion forums; discussion usually implies constructive chat rather than pointless mud-slinging. Oh, and I have seen MSR. It's a fine game, on a fine machine. I still prefer the look of GT3 though, but that's just my opinion.
As I've said on the PS2 forum, if not for PS2, I'd buy Dreamcast in a second. I could quite easily afford all of the consoles (when available). But I don't have the room, so I must make a choice - and that choice is PS2.
Maybe I'll get a GameCube or an Xbox when they're available, but that decision will still be based on the games available for them, just as it is now.

Mmm lets think about that one. No internet connection till next year.....very interactive.

The DC can also be linked up, aswell as any other PC and console system. The PS2 has only a 48 channel sound processor, which is very out dated, so i doubt that Dolby Pro-logic will be available. Even the DC has a 64 channel yamaha sound processor.

Choke, cough splutter. I dont think anyone should make a comparison between PC's and consoles untill the X-Box comes out. There is no way any current console can match the PC in any way shape or form. Saying that though my top-end PC is sitting in the corner gathering dust whilst i play Metropolis Street Racer on my son's DC.
Am i getting one?????? er well...... absolutely not. I think it will mainly sell well because of previous PS1 owners who have pledged there lives to Sony. They love Sony's capability of pushing out hundreds of rubbish games with just a handfull of top-notch original titles.
My son recently took his DC to his uncles house. His uncle has over 80 PS1 games. My son has about 12 DC games but he only took 2 with him. Toy Commander and Crazy Taxi.
Both the DC and PS1 were playing side by side but only one was stuck on the Demo screen.....mmmmm which one do you think.....the best selling console ever with the fastest selling game ever (GT2) was stuck on the opening title screen. Ha i thought why do you think so many people buy the PS1 when it is absolutely out-classed??? It's not as if it is much cheaper.....so why.....hype maybe?....the fact that everyone has got one so it MUST be the best is more like it.
I think he left to start a career in pro tennis.
