No smaller controller for Europe, because...
"Microsoft UK's Xbox PR manager, is Nick Grange, and according to him, UK gamers don’t want this slimmed down pad! He said that, 'Our research has found that people like the standard Xbox controller in Europe, so at this time we are not planning to offer an alternative'."
What research was that then? How many of you registered Xbox owners were consulted about this?
Thought not!
So where did this research take place?
Japan have it, the US has it... why not Europe? Are we seeing signs of MS not caring too much about the Euro market?
I agree, in th past I have been forceful but that is just the way I am. I argue a lot and I do try to force my views on others, but so far I don't think I have been that bad so far. I love the Xbox (as you might have gathered by now) and I find it hard to understand why others don't, but fair enough that is your opinion, I try to hide my fanboy ways but sometimes it comes out as all me me me, but you are wrong. Once you get to know what I am like I will get on with you well, as I do with Savatt, Silent 85 and Tom. Just give me a chance and I will try to be more understanding with you. But at the moment you have got me all wrong.
Usually if I complain so much about something I do something about it, either sell it or get rid of it. I didn't buy a GameCube becuase I waqsn't keen on the pad or the games, but I tested it first. Surely as you protest that you know a lot about games and hardware you must have played with the Xbox pad before you purchased the console? Or am I wrong?
Ok, I have listened to you and I understand you don't like the pad, look around on other sites or on SR for a different style pad, ring Microsoft and get information off them about the smaller pad and see if you can find out why it isn't being released. There are other pads out on the market to buy and they are developed from 3rd party companies and some are very good.
Let me clear this up with everybody in this forum and from any other forum. I do read everything that others put and I do consider what you say. I am not like Wookie says I am, I agree that others should have their opinion, but what it seems like is that when ever I have an opinoin Wookie tells me otherwise? Very strange to say that he is preeching the opposite to me. Anyway that aside, I like to read what other put and I do accept others peoples opinions. After being accused of "whinging" when I am pointing out to someone how much they always complain I find it rather funny that I am condemed to this. So read what I have said and take me for what I am, I like to listen to others and I hope you do the same, but I am not what Wookie is making me out to be!
It's nice to have a choice! I don't care if no one else wants it. I want it. And I have heard of loads of people importing them from America. The demand is here, and in my oppinion, Microsoft has made that statement up. Which has left me feeling very angry. I thought Microsoft said they would listen to us, and try to stay competative. This isn't. This is dicating to the British public, and telling us we like the controller. No one asked me if I wanted the Controller S. I don't think a website is trustworthy enough to base such an important decision on!
I think Microsoft have a good console here. But that's where the mistake is. They think all they need is a powerful console, that is CAPABLE of beating the other consoles. They don't seem to realise that they need to keep customers happy, and telling us that we don't want the controller S is terrible! How much trouble would it be to them to stick a few Controller S's along with the other pads, and ship them over here?
They really seem to be stuffing this console up. I love the Xbox, the design of the console, I even like the controller. But that doesn't neccessarily mean that I don't want the choice of another type of official controller! I guess that if I want one, I'll have to import it from the USA from somewhere like DVDBoxoffice.com.
Microsoft, you fools.
> The vote was: How do you like the Xbox controller? I suppose a lot of

Votes from other countries should not be considered if their 'research' is to determine the need (or lack thereof) for the UK market. So if what you say is true, then the research is either invalid or simply made up.
The way to find out if a smaller controller is wanted in the UK is to ask directly - "would you like a different controller?"
The smaller controller is sold with the Japanese machines, and it was released in the US without any such research being deemed necessary.
> Wookie, all I ever hear of you is complaints about the Xbox.
And all I ever hear from you is whinging about people who aren't as starry eyed about the machine as you are. People have different opinions, and not all of them match yours, so deal with it.
> In my opinion it is the greatest console ever made
Well bully for you. I don't. You're happy, I'm not, and would like the option of a smaller controller and also some decent games other than the three launch titles worth buying.
> and I know a few of my friends feel in exactly the same way. Maybe you

It isn't perfectly fine/good though, is it? If it was, I'd be just as happy as you
> What don't you like about the official controller?
It's too damn big and clumsy, that's what.
> I have played it now on most style of games apart from sport and so far
> I have had no problems what so ever.
It's all you, you, you, you, you, isn't it? Tiltawhirl is right - there's no point having a conversation with you because you're such a starry-eyed fanboy that you won't accept any comments that don't tie in 100% with your own.
At least others here (Tom, YH, savatt etc.) accept that maybe the Xbox isn't the perfect solution for everyone, even though they themselves love it.
In fact, you're ideally suited to a Microsoft product, because no matter how much or how many people tell you otherwise, you both insist that you're right and everyone else is wrong.
I've merely post my misgivings about the console, and that I think MS are making a mistake no releasing the smaller controller here.
I see the Xbox as a glorious opportunity (currently) going to waste.
This is a discussion forum, and the idea is to discuss opposing opinions, not shout everyone down with "I know best". If you can't handle that, you shouldn't be here.
> on the official site it had a pole for the pad and you had to say
> wether or not you prefered the pad and which region you were from.
Well, that's logical, isn't it?! How the hell can you vote for a pad that isn't available therefore you can't possibly have used?
