Just saw in the Top 40 Games thread started by FM, that GasMask's name was greyed out, and he's been banned.

What for? Anyone know?

I gotta say, that is the problem sometimes when you are chatting in text form, sometimes people can't tell when you are joking and even the modest innocent statement can be misconstrued.

Shame someone was banned over a misunderstanding...

Can they lift the ban? I thought that once you were removed they couldn't lift the ban. I'm sure he will just create another name.

Someone posted asking for a serial number for pirate software they'd downloaded.

GasMask jokingly and sarcastically posted a duff number, saying "err, yeah, sure, here's mine" in a tone that blatently said "no way in hell you're getting that here".

Someone at SR took it seriously and banned him.

99% of us don't think that's fair, and SR refuse to lift the ban.

GasMask got banned for joking about a pirated serial number. He was blatantly being sarcastic. Unfortunately for him, Darkus and Hybrid Valves have no senses of humour. Everyone is displeased about this.

OK, I've just come on, and seen names bearing purple, yellow and turquoise colours flood a thread on these forums like I've never seen before, so...


Can someone explain to me what's happening?
